As posted on this site before, Cecil Fielder lost everything in the past year. Owes his son a bunch of dough. Maxed out his credit limits at Strip hotels here in Vegas, and is being actively sought by creditors for unpaid debts.

Why would you follow a tout if you were a millinaire? Wouldn't you bet just to bet and have fun? That's strange.

And don't foget Barkley, Jordan, and Micheleson too...although I'm not sure Michelson has a "problem" with gambling

It's the risk/reward that makes it fun for some people. Would you bet on a game to risk a nickel? Probably not. If you won 5 cents it wouldn't be much of a reward.

Only when you stand to lose signifcant amounts do you really realize the risk. That amount is different for each person.

It's only a problem if you can't pick winners!

Back in the 80's and early nineties when Doug Moe coached the Nuggets, he always came out to Wonderland Greyhound park with his 3 coaches (Alan Bristow, TR Dunn, and Bill Hanzlik) when the team played in Boston.

I remember Pat Reilly making some comment about hoping Doug enjoys his time at the dog track while the Lakers play for the title.

Phil the "COMPLETE AND TOTAL STIFF" Mickelson

Must agree here as he still owes me from 1990, not that big a figure either. But he just will not pay it as i have asked more than once years ago. Now that i have seen his name it brings back ALL kinds of shit way back then in Scottsdale.

It was the following the tout part I didn't understand. I could understand wanting to put 250K or a mil on a game if you have that kind of cash. But to pay for pics???

JR was (probably still is) a huge degenerate, he would actually call from the locker room before and after the game to make sure he would not miss anything. He would wheel 1 game with 30 or reverses. His book would just let him keep swinging for the fences! He paid close to a Million Dollars just for the picks and now his scumbag friend is suing trying to get his money back.

I remember hearing how George Steinbrenner said that he had to trade Mickey Rivers for his own good and that he had to send him to a place that didn't have racetracks (obviously before simulcasting).
