There are a ton of fairweather fans in the DC/Metro area...it really makes me sick to my stomach. There are few things in life I hate more than fairweather fans...but having said that, the Skins are still my team, so tune those bitches out and root for the Skins! LETS DO THIS

Skins, it's just rubbing me the wrong way lately. I was actually rooting for the Skins as the underdog (and also I want them to represent the NFC for the Super Bowl..hee hee hee) but these local morons make it hard for you to root for them. It's like it's the "in" thing now to cheer for the Redskins and wear the clothing, get the flags for your car and etc.. It's like enough already!

I'll never forget when the 'Skins went to the Super Bowl in '72, I saw this beautiful Olds '98 in burgundy and gold at Pohanka Oldsmobile on St. Barnabas Road. Man, that was the prettiest car I ever saw! I had one of those I root for the Redskins and I vote for Sonny bumper stickers. F##king George Allen lost us that Super Bowl. Kilmer and the offense did not help either! Man, still had a chance to tie with 2 minutes to go and I'll never forget Allen still calling Larry Brown #43 running plays. No matter what, Go Skins! Not only are most of the skins fans these days fairweather fans, but they are also idiots. You can't watch games with "fans" because they know nothing about football.
I'm a HUGE redskins fan but I am reluctant to talk football with other "fans" because 99% of the time they have no idea what they are talking about.

100% true...I've actually told good friends to stop talking to me about the Redskins because I think they are fairweather fans. Needless to say, they weren't too happy with me saying that. Oh well, fuck 'em. GO SKINS
One Redskins game I tried to go to, back in 1991 ,Skins and Oilers , Houston was like 7-1, Skins were undefeated at 8-0, they were billing this as a SB preview, my friend and I went without tickets hoping to buy a couple seats, long story short we ended up not getting in and being forced to watch the NFL games from across the street in this run down country club, not memorabe!
Love the Skins 110% but i can't stand being in this area at the beginning of the season and the end of the season. Beginning, everyone is on the bandwagon, sucking the players' dicks, etc. Then end of the season, either "Washington sucks" or "the coach is horrible" or "man i can't cheer for this team anymore." or "Man we're fuckin awesome!!! Oh wait, let me go read the sports page so i have some idea of what the fuck i'm talking about so i don't seem like an uneducated bandwagon rider."

Comparable situation? couple years back when the Cubs were hot shit, all the sudden anyone that lived anyhwere close to Chicago (Indiana, Illinois, etc.) was a life-long Cubs fan that always pulled for them. Needless to say, I became a huge marlins fan that season, topped off by their amazing series beating the Cubs.

Everywhere I have gone the bandwagon exists. When the team is doing well or better than they have the discussion picks up in the offices and at parties, wherever it normally doesn't exist. Some towns like LA take it to extremes though, where people don't even attend games or buy team gear unless they are winning titles.
