without a doubt, (despite the fact that I am Canadian), NOBODY could convince me that there is anything more exciting than the Stanley Cup Playoffs.......

Hockey has no regular season. It's ALL about the playoffs.

How many NBA playoff rosters feature three quarters of their roster with black eyes in the 3rd playoff round?

Too many teams make the playoffs in hockey.

Very poor agrument for it not be the most exciting.

Last I checked, over 60 teams make the Big dance.

to me it is too few teams that make the MLB playoffs.....

teams are out of it so early that it can often be boring if you are a fan of certain teams....

in the NHL, 16 of 30 teams (roughly) make it, meaning you almost always have a shot to make it....

But they play 162 games, the regular season should count for a lot, which in MLB it still does.

I didn't say that was the reason it wasn't the most exciting...if it were so exciting it would receive better TV ratings, last I checked womens NCAA basketball was viewed more.

If your a hockey fan it is the best, OT hockey in the playoffs cant be beat.
However like Jman said the womens NCAA tournament and also WSOP replays would get better ratings then the NHL playoffs did on ESPN

Hockey isn't a TV sport , it's great in person, it loses too much on TV, only the fans with teams can get into it on TV, very regional...

I can't get into some guy name Jaques wearing a helmet, squaring off and against another guy named Pierre digging out a black disc I can barely see in the corner, hockey has no identity outside of the cities with teams.

The NHL playoffs are great, no doubt...but there's nothing more exciting than March Madness. The single-elimination element, combined with the frequency of upsets and the crowd involvement make it a joy to watch. Two of the best days of the year, undoubtedly, are the first Thursday and Friday of the tourney.

I am just kidding, hockey is great for the places with teams, its just not that interesting for those without teams.

March Madness Where it really shows how overrated talent can be and the team that's hungrier often can prevail along with a couple breaks.

Lets not forget for every good game in March Madness there are plenty of poor ones. There are so many games though it makes it sure there are a few good moments of drama, but I will still always go with Stanley Cup playoffs. NBA and NFL aren't bad, but not enough upsets that matter to make them compelling.
