Denver-Seahawks just will not create much excitement. Plummer vs Hassleback. The game is in Detroit and don't worry, Winter will eventually show up. It's still the Superbowl but there just isn't much passion about either team outside their respective cities. Pittsburgh would create more interest. Carolina does't help . The only saving grace is the line will be competitive and props will draw equal action.

I think the Bears or Panthers can go into Seattle. I also believe Pittsburgh still is alive. Too many quick assumptions. I am sorry.

The big buzz would have been is Indy had got into the SB. And, as I pointed out in another thread, the NFL did everything it could to insure that. The reversal of the Polamalu interception was a travesty. But all in the interest of assisting the glamor team and jazzing up their showpiece game.

Fuck the NFL and their corporate mindset. Their phony replay calls during playoffs make their game look like pro wrestling.

Couldnt have said it better myself. That bozo ref had to have had Indy on the ML to reverse that call. I am the first to jump on someone who says that these games are fixed but after seeing that reversal maybe I should step back and take a better look at this.

the super bowl is so established as a major event it does not matter who plays in it.

suits me just fine that their is no indy.. all we would have heard about is dungy's kid ..

i think its gonna be a great game no matter who plays in this year.

looks like indy's only shot at a super bowl title is to now hire jon gruden.

maybe he can win it all with those guys just like he did with dungys former team.

No buzz at all this year. It will be hard to market this game. Look at the possible matchups at this point...

Denver-Carolina
Denver-Seattle
Pittsburgh-Carolina
Pittsburgh-Seattle

Not the way the NFL would have drawn it on the board.

And so it goes......

The Steelers have a big following. If they get it in, there will certainly quite a bit of excitement.

Just a guess, but I'd say Pitt has the largest fan base out of them-can't be a situation that the ad execs are happy over.

I think the two underdogs could make it. Pittsburgh would be better than Denver, to make it to the Super Bowl as far as interest.
Seattle is a team that is waiting to choke it away. Carolina could smack them.

the nfc is the side that is hurting ratings. the history of seattle and carolina as NFL teams just is not there. PITT vs. CHI would of been very marketable.:suomi:
