I seen Wilt play several times early in his career at the old Boston Garden. He had great battles with Bill Russell, they were actually good friends off the court. I even remember listening to a little bit of the 100 point game on an old radio we had in our kitchen. At night you could get games from all over the east coast. The game was actually played in Hershey PA. Richie Guerin scored 47 or 48 points for the Knicks that night.

Chamberlain played the entire 48 minute game and by halftime had scored 41 points on a combined 14 of 26 shooting from the field and an uncharacteristic 13 of 14 from the free throw line. For a career, Chamberlain only shot 51 percent from the line, yet for the game he would make 28 of his 32 attempts. Most impressively, Chamberlain would finish the game with 25 rebounds.

Years ago - I saw Adam Sandler do standup in a small club (pre SNL days) - he did this bit about the game where Wilt scored 100. It went something like this

Ok - here is my impersonation of one of Wilts teammates during the final timeout of the game he scored 100 in

"Hey Wilt - like I'M WIDE OPEN man"

Don't you mean late in his career ?

I saw Wilt when he was a Philadelphia Warrior very early in his career.

Looks like my memory is slipping, Richie Guerin only scored 39 that night in 1962.

Wilt scores 100 and 4 other guys on his team in double figures , 3 with 15 or more, and another player had 9....all in 48 minutes?

Was this game played on a mini court or something?

...and this was way before the shot clock.

I never saw Wilt live but classic games against the Celtics and Russell, and Russell cleaned his clock just about every time.

Actually the shot clock was started in the early to mid fifties in the NBA. The 100 point game was definitely a shot clock game, in fact Wilt never played a minute in the NBA without a shot clock. That year (1962) Wilt averaged 50 points a game for the season.

Actually wilt almost always outplayed russel but russel was surrounded with much better teammates. See what happened when wilt had good teammates like the record breaking phil. team and lakers of the early 80's. Wilt even led the league in assists at least once.

Let me try to figure this out.

Wilt died at age 63. Screwed 20,000 women.

Say he lost his virginity at 15, that is 48 years of having sex.

That comes out to banging 417 women per year.

34.75 women per month.

1.16 women per day.

When in the hell did he practice? I am calling bullshit.

And what number was my grandma is this sex mix?

She was the 0.16 somewhere in the middle (kidding)

From all accounts - the guy had an appetite that could never be quenched. There were stories of him on the road having the conciere bring up a new girl to his room every 2 hours for 14 hours straight.
