I don't see Nine up top. Did we come to our senses?

No decent player can make a reasonable play there without having their limits cut to 1$ and being told to call them in and get the runaround. I am not running them in the ground, they are what they are. Some have defended them a little to much IMHO.

I have never understood why shops that want strictly recreational players would advertise here. Now that VIP has bought Nine, I would assume that once the current ad contract is up they will not be renewing.

I think it is a blessing for this site so the mods don't have to defend this book anymore.

The last thing that I would complain about is a book that cuts limits.

Would you prefer a book that took all comers and couldn't stay afloat, and then had to go through a 10x ollover to cash out what you sent in?

People want bonuses, low rollovers, soft lines, low vig and high limits - and then they want to pound the shop with scalps - and then they want to get paid. That isn't happening.

I would rather have Nine.com kick people out than have nine.com go belly-up and be bailed out by some book with a 12x rollover.

I was just telling TT in an IM - let's see how long it takes for this to turn into a bash the book thread.

Heck I am a square too

... but one thing for sure:

95% of the people who think they're sharp are squares too
- they simply THINK they're sharp but bankrolls don't lie.

I agree with this man, LOL. Betting sports is like playing pool or banging the old lady, we're never as good as we think we are. I for one know I'm a square, no sense lying about it. Feels odd at times surrounded by some many wiseys around here, I keep hoping some of it will rub off on me....

I could be wrong, but I think one "sharp" with high limits would win more than 100 squares.

Laugh all you want, but it's true.

Some have a good opinion, but even

BB
BW
QT
Tiger

get killed at times. Just the truth. This season would serve as a good example.

Of course everyone gets killed at times...but winning consistently and for a living is considered "sharp" by most.

A very few have the money management skills to do so.

Some use their influence to weaken numbers as a method.

Some are informed with info before it hits market.

But, The one who can PICK the winner consistantly without these three above factors is indeed the rarest of species.

just my humble opinion though, not looking for any arguement.

I am not looking for an argument either and think everyone is entitled to their own opinion and normally others opinions are much wiser than mine...but on this topic, I can assure you there are MANY sharp players that reak havoc on sportsbooks. I have seen it first hand.

They win consistently and can turn a book upside down if they are allowed to run wild.

They are very rare as you mentioned. But it only takes a couple to offset 250 squares. Only books with volume can take their action without getting buried or doing what most do now and limit or boot them.

Most of the books taking sharp action are pretty sharp themselves and have already shaded the number to keep them away or they are betting out the plays once they come in (just my opinion).
