I was the biggest Steelers fan there was back in grade school, all the way thru high school....

I even got in a fight once and broke my thumb after the Steelers lost to Houston once on monday night football...I punched Albert Folks in the face, and tackled him into the steps, my thumb swelled up like drumstick, after he ragged my team, this was towards the end of their great era.

1970's Pittsburgh Steelers , the decade of domination! Greatest sports team ever assembled.

No longer a real Steelers fan though, I cannot claim any allegiance , funny I am wearing black and gold as I type this.

If I bet on the Steelers, then I'm a Steelers fan, at least for the day. And I think I'm a Steelers fan this weekend.

Since birth, 1968. There is a huge Steelers fan base here in the Phoenix Metro Area. Moved out here 4 years ago, and couldn't believe it. I can get an IC at anytime.

Count me in. Born and raised in the Pittsburgh area. Been actively following them since the 40ies. Had season tickets for years and years. Raised a whole family of Steeler rooters and we had one hell of a time this past Sunday.

a TRUE Steelers fan:

Talk about a heart-stopping game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Indianapolis Colts.

</td> </tr> </tbody></table> <!---------------------INLINE TABLE (END)--------------------> Terry O'Neill, 50, of Pittsburgh, was watching the game at a bar and had a heart attack seconds after Jerome Bettis fumbled trying to score from the 2-yard line late in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger prevented the Colts' Nick Harper from returning the recovered ball for a touchdown and the Steelers hung on for a 21-18 win.
O'Neill said Bettis is his hero.
"I wasn't upset that the Steelers might lose," he said. "I was upset because I didn't want to see him end his career like that. A guy like that deserves better. I guess it was a little too much for me to handle."
O'Neill, who was recovering at a hospital, credits two firefighters with saving him.
"The Steelers won the game and I'm still alive, so I guess I'm doing pretty good," he said.
He will have a pacemaker implanted to control an irregular heartbeat and he was prescribed medication to deal with the hypertension.
And while he would like to go to the bar to thank the guys who saved him, O'Neill said, "but for the most part I guess I should probably take it easy and watch the game at home."
