I am interested in hearing about systems for betting on baseball. Or if you have experience with something that works please let me know.

I hear that he is the one to watch, but I am still curious as to how he generates his picks.
Bucfan , I beleive just knows baseball and many times just goes with his gut. I don't care how he does it just follow him and you will more than likely do very well. The thing about systems. What works well one year does not necessarily repeat itself the following season. I think we need to just follow Bucsfan and Journeyman they seem to have a very good grasp on baseball.

I think you have to have some kind of system to win in baseball. There are far too many games, and things going on, for someone to simply to just watch games and get a feel for the teams. It's not like the NFL where you can watch every game for a given group of teams, with the NFL Ticket. The key to developing a good system is the law of averages, and having some good math skills. Baseball is a numbers driven sport, and factors such as momentum and team attitude or not as prevalent.

i wish i would have kept the paperwork, maybe someone else has it, i found it on some site about basball capping. it had 5 trends and all were decent moneymakers. the big one if i remember involved pitchers who have won 3 or lost 3 in a row going up against a team whether they lost or won. i apologize for the vagueness of this, but i am sure someone out there has these 5 systems. they were pretty profitable. i may have done an internet search for betting basball and a site led me to those 5 systems. Like i said it involved teams and also pitchers who were streaking and the way to bet them was based on how the other team won or lost the game before. it was good that is all i know. i just gave up on it cause i did not have the disipline or patience for it. i am sure someone out there knows what i am talking about.

CDG - I'm not sure what system you are referring to, but I'm not sure a short-term trend such as "3 in a row" will lead to any long-term value. I think too much emphasis is put on a SP's last 3 outings. Throw one bad start in there, and his ERA in the Last 3 is over 6.00. Stick to the "big" picture, and I think you'll do a much better job. If you still think it may work, dig for the numbers and post them up. I'd be surprised if they prove the theory correct over the course of several seasons.

possibly what dosent work might be just as important. the theorys of betting a team to win 1 game in a series with doubling up if lose game 1 and then more if lose game 2 had no statistical validity last yr either league. the only thing that was a small positive was american league road dogs to win game 1 of a series. nothing in the system for game 2 or 3.
Over unders by home and road appeared to do better.certain ball parks are hitters parks. the best 3 plays lst yr were phillys over at home cinn over at home and fla over on the road. american league and this is from memory yanks/sox yanks/balt lots of overs w.sox lots of unders. texas over at home under on road. statfox has lots of stats brokern out by home and away.
if one notices in baskets tatehill had a system of betting on road teams trips and not much came of it. markie mark in hockey has the same idea but if you look at his stats the bulk of the wins came from games 3 and 4 when he had lost games 1 and 2.
baseball is also streaky and i dont think you can quanify that wait til a t eam wins 2 and then bet them to win 1 more 2 more not sure how to do that mechanically.
somebody mentioned bucsfan and i think chop-lo had good seasons worth looking at and if bboth are on ame game take it idea might make as much sense as anything else.

i agree it doesn't seem like alot but for pitchers 3 04 4 starts is like 10% of their year. these trends were successful for the last 5 years, again this was free information i wish i can find it. my wife threw it out when we moved. it is on the web i just need to find it.

Shamelessly follow Bucs, Chop, Ego, Tomorrows Newspaper, Da One and Only, my man SSI for some systems plays, and/ or Journeyman.

I KNOW I'm forgetting a quality capper or two, my apologies..........

Baseball is a game of streaks, both good and bad. Even the worst teams have winning streaks from time to time during the season. If one is astute enough to catch a team about to go on a tear, or in the tank for that matter, you can seriously impact your bankroll in a very positive manner.

I am new to this forum but have capped baseball and won the last 2 years. Lost a few units in 2003.

I am looking forward to the season and will contribute as much as I can to all who post and view here.
