Money is good if you invest it. Money that comes in quickly can go out quickly as well.

Its not hard to get off that wagon Blue. Just remember no matter what you make, be sure you are living 20% below that. Then no matter how conspicuous your consumption, you are still taking care of yourself for the future well.

My goal was to be 30 w/ 2 million net and no debt, then regroup and see what direction I would go in live, now this looks impoosible.

You need somewhere between 3 and 5 million cash - safely invested you can earn 150 tax free a year - so about 12k a month for life - you can't buy yachts but you can live real nice and never hear an alarm clock unless you have an early tee off time.

i live below my means and save a decent % of my income. however, as the bank account grows, it is not nearly as satisfying as i thought it would be.

i dont look to money for the source of all satisfaction. its just that its less satisfying than i thought. once i hit a goal of x amount of dollars saved, i just look at it and think, thats really not that much...i need more.

You always need more, but still nothing wrong if you are saving and not just trying to collect nothing but material things.

Saving to me always > spending. I just like to check my balances on the + side and see them going up rather than the balances on the things I owe.

i think if you had 4 million you could be secure, have some nice things, give to charity and have "enough" Does not mean you will be happy, you can be happy on $25K a year that comes from within.
