Has this season put Kobe back in that elite air, with MJ and the other handful of top players in NBA history?

I can list at least 5-10 players that are "greater" than him. He needs make noise in the playoffs for a lot longer if he wants to even be considered as one of the top 10 greatest players.

Why is he considered selfish now?

He's scoring 36 PPG , shooting the exact same FG % this year and FT % as his entire career, 45.2% and 83%...exact same.

I don't think he's anymore 'selfish' than MJ was...he doesn't have the players around him though that Jordan did.

Not even close. Kobe's fun to watch but he's not a winner.

Unless he has Shaq holding his hand, Kobe is going to continously struggle to make the playoffs because he doesn't play a team game and the Lakers suffer because of it.

If Suns traded Kobe for Steve NAsh the Phoenix Suns would go right into the toilet.

Is this an award for rape or basketball?....That ruined any chance he ever had for getting kudos in hoops.

kobe is selfish because he orchestrated the laker demise. he wanted to have all the spolight to himself. and as others point out, he makes his teamates worse, unlike the truly great players.

kobe's main goal right now is not championships or to make his team better. its all about him. that to me= a selfish player

Journeyman we have 5 posters inm this thread here not impressed with Kobe on the court. Are you in some kind of fantasyland? You need to re read the posts, this is a boring subject as it is.

Railbird I could care less what you think, why don't you go sell some tickets skippy, your opinion is at best ridiculous in almost every circumstance.

I hate Kobe...but can't deny he will go down as one of the best ever. He already won his rings regardless of how great Shaq was that helped him get there.

Very few (if any) ever win a championship without a supporting cast. How can that be held against him?

Jordan never won a championship until Scottie Pippen matured into a great player.

Magic had Kareem and Worthy...Bird had McHale and Parrish...everyone needs a supporting cast to win championships.

How many players could do what Kobe is doing? I don't know of any other great players that have had this bad of a supporting cast. That team really is filled with scabs.

Note: as a TALENT, he's easily in the top 5 of all-time.

Shaquille has a top 8 player in Wade, he has not won yet either, and probably won't win another ring.
