Remerdee is a Sophmore guard from Rock Valley Ia. Was a standout there in High School. Went to University of Iowa and left because of family matters to be closer to home. She has continued the streak tonight. The latest update is she is at 108 consecutive. I know its NAIA, but hey 108 fts in a row is amazing. I think its safe to say that she will hold this record for quite sometime. Surprised that the National media hasnt grasped ahold of this yet. Quite a feat!

Girls are definatly more accurate than guys. I dont care what the percentages say.

I remember watching the college 3-point shoot out, and the girls were by far more impressive.

108 is amazing no matter who you are though.

Update. The streak is at 121 they play today. How much longer will ESPN decide to not cover this remarkable story?

Guys ... that is chump change:

On November 15, 1993, a white-haired, 72-year-old gentleman named Dr. Amberry stepped up to the free throw line and into the Guinness Book of World Records by sinking 2,750 shots in a row. He ended his 12-hour streak without a miss, stopping only because they had to close the gym for the night. In Free Throw, he reveals his secrets. Beginning with the proper mechanics of the shot, he then explains the importance of the mental game and shares his techniques to help players stay on target even while under pressure. Combining these mental and physical elements, he presents a unique and straightforward 7-step method that teaches readers how to become a 90% free throw shooter.
The free throw is the Achilles heel of the basketball player -- many players are great from the floor but lousy at the line. Free Throw is the only book to address this important skill. Clearly written, with principles that are easy to put into practice, it is an indispensable manual for all basketball players and coaches.

About the Author
Dr. Tom Amberry was a podiatrist for 40 years, publishing many articles about various aspects of his profession. On November 15, 1993, following his retirement, Dr. Amberry shot his way into The Guinness Book of Records by sinking 2,750 free throws in a row. Since then he has become internationally known as, in the words of one announcer, "the best free throw shooter ever to touch a basketball." Dr. Amberry travels constantly, teaches shooting clinics and makes frequent radio and TV appearances. He has been featured on NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw, ESPN, Dateling, Day One, The Late Show with David Letterman, NBA Inside Stuff, and ABCs World News Tonight. On his college basketball team, Tom Amberry was twice the nation's high scorer. He was an All-American two years in a row, turning down a two-year, no-cut contract with the Lakers to pursue a career in medicine.

I played with someone in college who hit 70 in a row. For his 4 year career he hit 449-492 for a .913 career FT percentage.

Thats incredible, she is doing that in gametime situations vs. playground by yourself.
If there is one thing that I never understood about the NBA is why more players don't shoot 90% or higher year to year. It continues to go downhill and now a 75% shooter is looked upon as being good.... WTF?!?!?!?!?! These guys do this on a regular basis for 20 years b4 they are in NBA and thats the best they can do? I'm terrible but if I practice everyday for one month I GUARANTEE I can do 75% and many others here can as well. As far as sporting endeavors go this is about as easy as it gets, say the equivalent of hitting a 5 ft. putt... so why don't more NBA guys excel at this?

If the men used a smaller ball, you would see 100% ft shooters for the entire season. Its ridiculous.
