What a joke:

USC also said it has added season-opening games against Idaho on Sept. 1, 2007, and against San Jose State on Sept. 5, 2009.

It's one thing for the SEC who beat up on each other all yr to schedule a few cupcakes, quite another for USC who plays cream puffs in the Pac-10 all season long. Fight on!

Arkansas was at least an SEC team...WAC teams will not get it done...

Especially bottom of the barrel WAC teams.

At least play Boise or Fresno so there's a chance it might be a good game.

These two teams (San Jose and Idaho) are two of the worst in D1.

Pac-10 was non-existent the ten years prior to SC's dominance? What about UCLA, Wash, Wash State, Oregon, OSU, Arizona, ASU etc? All of those teams had quality seasons in the time frame you list. The Pac-10 has always had quality teams, they just play a different style of football than they do in the SEC.

When you say SC's run is over, how far are you predicting they will fall? They still are getting the top recruits, hard to imagine them going too far down.

Golfing Arkansas, you might as well make a tee time for September 2nd unless you want to watch USC destroy Arkansas again in your crib. USC might not end up as the national champion next year, but they will be ranked top ten, maybe top 5...They only recruit 5 star recruits with some 4-stars sprinkled in, they will reload and be competing for a NC in two years, perhaps even next year since they get Nebraska, Cal, Notre Dame, Arizona State and Oregon at home....didn't USC beat Arkansas twice last year? Oh that's right, it was the same game...i keep thinking they combined the score of two games.

BTW, Oregon finished the year ranked 2nd in 2001 after embarassing Colorado in the Fiesta Bowl and Oregon State finished the year ranked #4 after destroying Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl one year prior (Oregon and Washignton were also ranked in the top 10 that year) and OSU would have destroyed either Oklahoma or Florida State had they played in the NC game. Still 8 players in the NFL from that OSU team. And that is coming from a completely non-biased Beaver.

wc-bias, we all know how you feel about the pac ten!!!! I think the term atleast the sec comment was not right. i can't argue that Usc beat the Hogs this yr, but don't count next yr money just yet! Bye the way, the Texas money line bet paid nice and with 4 minuuts left your team had a two score lead and still lost. He went for it on fourth down because he knew he couldn't stop one player. Kinda like the pac ten one or two two teams at best............The country did not even know who the pac ten was 3 yrs ago or the last 15 yrs i can give you some figures.

</TD></TR><TR><TD width="100%" bgColor=#ffffcc>The CFN Formula's Components:
1. Wins - If you win, everything else falls into place. Each win counts as 1.
2. Quality Wins - The number of wins over teams that finished with a winning record. Each win counts as 1.
3. Elite Wins - The number of wins over teams that finished with two losses or fewer. Each win counts as 1 with a road win over an Elite team getting an extra 0.5. Also counting as 1 is a road win over a team that finished with three losses or fewer, but the extra 0.5 isn't added. (For historical purposes, in preovertime days a tie against a team that finished with no losses or one loss gets 0.5. This is highlighted most in 1992 Michigan's 9-0-3 season.)
4. Bad Loss - The number of losses to teams that finished with three wins or fewer or a loss to a DI-AA team. Each loss counts as -1. Take away an additional 0.5 for a Bad Loss at home. (For historical purposes in preovertime days, a tie against a team that finished with three losses or fewer gets 0.5 taken away.)
5. Bad Win - The number of wins to teams that finished with three wins or fewer. Each win counts as minus 0.25.
6. Elite Loss - The number of losses to teams that finished with two losses or fewer (but not two losses and a tie for the pre-overtime years). Each loss counts as 0.25.
7. Point Differential - Points for minus points against divided by 100.
8. Winning Percentage - To take losses into account, winning percentage is in the mix.

National College Football Champions

<!--BodyText-->

<!--BodyText-->Prior to 1998, the National Collegiate Athletic Association recognized as unofficial champion the team selected each year by press association polls of writers and coaches. After 1998, the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) was implemented to determine the NCAA champs, using polls, computer rankings, schedule, record, and quality win factors. Changes made in the 2004 season narrowed down the process, with the system employing the AP media poll, the USA Today/ESPN coaches poll, and a computer average. For the 2006 BCS season, the format is being tweaked again. This time the four BCS bowls (Rose, Sugar, Fiesta, and Orange) will be held Jan. 1–3 and the championship game will take place in Phoenix, Ariz., on Jan. 8.

Focus on the original post and stop living in the past for once! USC got spanked. THey won 1 national championship (hardly a dynasty), and it's over.

No, the ten years prior was 1992 to 2002, you are conveniently ignoring 2000 through 2002 to bolster your argument, although the Pac 10 had as many NC's in the 1990's as the Big 10 and Big East, but it is obvious the 1990's were dominated by the Big 12 and SEC.

But...here is your first post...

"i don't understand? One team in the pac ten has had a great Team in the last three yrs and the ten yrs before that, the whole pac ten was non existent! Oregon this year even got beat be a mediocre ou team....Please do not say atleast an Sec team. The Usc run is over i promise you......"

You said the Pac 10 was non-existant, you didn't say anything about national championships. Again, the SEC is the only conference with a better BCS bowl record than the Pac 10, and those aren't just USC wins.

If this is a conference discussion, I'll say what I always say, the SEC is the best top to bottom. If this a NC discussion, the proof is in the pudding, you are correct.

Then you promised all that the USC run is over. Nope, go look at their recruiting list, their average recruit is almost a full star ahead of their closest competitor....They don't just recruit in LA anymore, they are competing for the top guys in every state in the country.

It was fun watching USC go 3-0 versus the SEC the past three years, especially putting up 70 against your helpless Hogs last year. I look forward to watching them go 4-0 and win for the second time in the heart of SEC country next year. Then I'll root for Oregon State to kick their gay white horse trojan ass once pac-10 play starts. Hey, I don't want USC to win the Pac 10, I want Oregon State to win.

Whormoan, you are the poster child for hater. How does a three point loss in the last 30 seconds of a football game translate to USC getting spanked? I wish I could have seen your face when USC was up by 12 with six minutes to go, I know you were pacing around and throwing sponges at your TV. You should get some knee pads out and blow Vince Young if he ever comes to town because he alone saved your entire puffed up year of bitching, whining, hating. That was a great football game, and one of the greatest, if not the greatest, performance by a college football player ever.

But I agree with you, sorry to see USC add Idaho and San Jose State, I'm guessing all the SEC and Big 12 teams knuckled when Pete Carroll called and offered to drive the bus into their home town.

And I lost not one single penny when USC lost to Texas. I did lose when UCLA blew-out third place Big 10 powerhouse Northwestern.

Fight on!

Just checked because I know Whormoan O'Reilly won't tell the rest of the story...

USC follows those games with a trip to Nebraska in 07 and a trip to Ohio State in 09...add to that Notre Dame in both years and USC will again have one of the most difficult OOC schedules of any BCS conference team.
