What does move on air mean and what books do/don't do it?

Not 100% sure but I think it means a particular book moves it spread within a matter of seconds from a move from one of the big books, almost like their software taps into the other books for line movements, is this correct or do I have this backwards? What books do this?

Move on air means, they didn't take bets but moved the line following the larger books, correct.

Its called moving on a move and not a bet. Some places which are very few only move a number when a bet is made. The others move when one shows up because they are afraid someone knows which will cause them to lose on a bad number. I could go on but it will just get deleted. suffice it to say there are more phantom books than real ones out there.

Very tough question that you are most likely not going to get any real answers to unless we have a lot more linesmen reading than I realized.

Moveing on AIR !
Its real easy to understand if an offshore joint is useing -3.5 and had not taken a bet at that price, then ALL of a sudden the Don Best Screen goes black and most if not ALL of the big joints move to 4 or even 4,5 they follow!

Some books try not to move on air ... but ... if someone consistantly pounces on the line that they haven't moved, they get their limits cut ... so books can get the best of both worlds.

Most if NOT ALL offshore joints follow the lead of Cris and Pinn as they most usually get hit First.

Jman an you are absoluetly correct about the scalp. This is why you Must have a few locals in the speeddial.
Locals still move with the screen but sometimes are not nearly as fast as the offshore industry.
Locals that take 5-10k move on AIR ALL the time, but the others, the smaller locals dont. Sometimes they are even moveing the other way.

Everyone does it, including pinnacle...like when you see the line down. That being said, some books do it more than others.

That pretty much sums it up-if you can balance it, you don't have to. If you can't-yeah, you probably do.

It doesnt mean its the right move but:

If a book hangs a line and with so many having multiple accounts:

They can get pounded one side. Not what books what.

If you liked the side you pound the best line!

Yep. Books are in the business of offering #'s that will make them money-and minimize their exposure. If you like their #, take it-overwise, find a better one.
