It's called Obessive Compulsive Disorder. See if you can read up on it Journey. Basically people become consumed with something to the point they can't function till they do what it is that is bothering them or they have very unique routine they must follow when performing a simple task, this unique routine would be absurd to you or I. Hard to explain.

The only part I catch myself doing that is OCD like is checking locked doors sometimes 3 or 4 times before I go to bed or when leaving. When I know full well that they are locked, can't sleep till I do this, feel very uneasy.

LOL- OOOOOOOH, yeah! I knew I would know this, I was drawing a blank, sorry, was thinking of something to post.

I know I suffer from it...I don't feel it's always a bad thing.

Hi , guys , Yes I have full blown , I have been on meds for the last 2 years or so , believe me its no laughing matter at all, I feel if I do NOT do certain things X amount of times someone will fall ill in my family ,and many other things like that, no matter how stupid I know it is , I cannot stop myself from doing certain rituals. It has improved since the meds ,however I still suffer from it, and this desease annoys me , so imagine what it does to the people around me!
Good Luck

Definitely have it, but not out of control. It is not all bad. You can channel the obsessiveness into getting quite a bit accomplished, like trying to figure out how to beat the horses, for example. :103631605

I don't have it in that way.....I think I've just become neurotic now that I'm constantly trying to do 20 things at once.

A lot of people think they might have OCD who do not. If ya got it, you know it. OCD is freakin' messed up sick. Absolutely crazy and I feel horrible for anyone who has this disease. Just because you are obsessive does not make one have OCD. I obsess but i don' have OCD. I know someone that has it. It's a very sad thing....and apparantly uncontrollable. TV is trying to make it out to be just rituals.

But some people when they drive over a stick in the road they have to stop and get out of the car and check it to make sure it wasn't a person. Or they have three garbage bags full of mail because they can't throw it away, or it takes them 10 minutes to write a check to make sure it is right. That is where the rituals come in. Check it over and over until it "feels" right. TV is making it look like so much more of a simple problem than it really is.

The person I know who has it is not me.

you guys saying in here that you got it a little, or you suffer from it......don't have it. Most people are all OCD about something sometime. Mine is locking doors and keys.....but I obsess that maybe I forgot to lock the door even though I know good and well that I did. That is not OCD, but it does make you understand what it might be like to have that feeling.....then multiply that by 1000 and non-stop all day, then your startin' to get the picture.
