This dude that lived at my house who was not family asked me if I wanted to place a bet with a bookie he knew. I was 15. So I bet a 5 buck parley and hit 4 out of 5 and said...hey I lost but this is EASY. Then I put 25 bucks on a football game (huge allowance money) and it hit and this confirmed it....I was on the easy money train.

age 10 at the dog tracks. I used to go with my dad and get to bet $2 on the dogs. We would sit there all day long and watch those dogs. Haven't stopped since!

I learned alot watching Jimmy Vaccarro post halftime and quarter lines on hoops at the Mirage back in 1989-1993. Was a born gambler, was betting sports when I was 7 years old.

I learned a lot from my Dad. I used to place in my bets from my Dad and he would relay it to his bookie.
I still have him place in bets for me, but I use offshore books most of the time.

Initially BJ authors like Thorpe, Revere,Wong etc. I definetly learned a few things from Fezz back at SBR,and Sean from that site. I learn a lot from guys at many sites, and try to help others. I hate to mention some, because I omit others, but some notables that come to mind are ( in no particular order) Fezz, Sean,daringly,D2bets,Sherwood, Frog,Dreamer, Cutter, Steammaker/ Blacklab, Computerpicks, many more. Not all post here.

Listing is bad because you omit, I could add Ace-Ace, but not really because I can't read him... just skip to what he picks. I can't throw in IMEQ, Bucs, J-man, Fish... they pick good, but don't tell you how they do it.

I have people like the above that influence me, they may make a play into a bigger play, or get me off a bet I was considering.

Methodology is important. I can bet all sorts of stuff I know nothing about using sound methods and line shopping/ scalping/forecasting/bonuses, and following the right people. Determining who the right people to follow are is the hard part.

Got my start at a harness track when I was 15 and soon I was at the dog track 3-4 nights a week and had a parlay card route in high school. That was 20 or so years ago. I purposely went to school in a "no gambling" state and spent a few years in the navy, so I had some years where I didn't do a whole lot. Picked it up again when I went to work at a place where a guy who worked for me was making book and that was about 10 years ago.

I've been betting sports for years, but I must say that I've learned an incredible amount here on the Rx in the past few years.

Dog tracks and harness tracks growing up in Iowa is where it all began plus gambling with friends in high school.

Biggest OVERALL influence........

Mr. SONNY REIZNER

Secondly would be the many friends/sharpest of the sharp/wiseguys having met through gambling by living in Vegas for years or through these various gambling forums...........which obviously are many.

Who: My Dad.

Growing up my dad was always gambling. Whether it was sports or playing cards, he was doing something. I can remember betting with my uncle on the 72 Dolphins games and doing the parlay cards from a very young age.

One of my earliest memories of football betting was when we were at a relatives house and there was a game I had picked on my parlay card, I had asked if they were going to start the game with the score 4-0 (that was the spread of the game). I remember they had to pick my Dad up off the floor.

Started serious gambling when I was in college, made my mistakes and have learned from all of them. More of a hobby for me now.

Started running parlay cards in high school for the man at the pool hall. He gave a % of the win of my action, seems like we won Every week way back then too.
Started booking in college and did very well back in the late 60,s also. Had nice bizz for many many years until the 80's when the computer group almost busted me with that one college basketball season that they had back then.
Learned that booking and betting at the same time can be "double" good or doulbe bad !
Only play cfb and mlb now and Only National League in the baseball. Do these more than a hobby.
