Gibraltar/Millenium not paying my win of 2 dimes

I have an accnt with Gibraltar sportsbook. 2 weeks ago I called 1 hr before the Phoenix @ Sacramento game and requested my entire balance to be risked on Sacramento for the 1st half. I repeated myself to the clerk saying "I want to risk everything on Sacramento 1st half". The clerk gave me a quick readback with Phoenix as my pick and I confirmed it. I assumed he was saying Sacramento since I had not uttered the word Phoenix in my phone call. Minutes later, I checked my accnt and noticed that the clerk had misentered my wager. I immediately called back informing them of the mistake. Actually I called back FOUR times before the game to tell them I wished to bet Sacramento, but the clerk had misunderstood me. They said they would resolve my bet the next day after listening to the phone call. The next day it was obvious in the playback that I had requested Sacramento, but the clerk mistakenly said Phoenix in the readback. And I mistakenly confirmed the bet assuming he was betting Sacramento for me. However, I did call back 4 times before the game informing them of their mistake. Gibraltar decided to refund my risk of 2k on the bet. However, that is not fair. I clearly won this bet as I had asked my bet to be on Sacramento.

I requested The General to help me collect my winnings from them.

Be glad you got the 2 dimes back. You no doubt are a money maker for them. My advice is to play at a sportsbook that will give you competent service.

The above posters are right - you are very lucky to get a refund. Rule 14 from Gibraltar website:

14. After a telephone wager is made, the clerk will then repeat the information back to the player in a "read back". During that conversation, if the bets and amounts are correct, the player will say, "that's correct," and will repeat the assigned account number and password. If incorrect the player must correct the errors at this time.

when they are reading it back to you you need to calm down and listen when you oked it the clerk thought it was good... hence I will never call a book rather use the net

but in this case if it was ME

I would only have myself to blame

you are EXTREMELY lucky to get your original bet back, classy move by the book to do that they for sure did NOT have to since you confirmed the bet

JMHO good luck

I hate phone ins, very hard to understand clerks at almost every book. I've confirmed stuff before that I wasn't 100% sure of. I confirmed what I thought the clerk said, so far OK. The ony thing I call in is action points to Oly, and their clerks speak no better than average.

very lucky you got the money back, the book did the right thing, only thing I would have suggested to you is this, if the bet was not going to be resolved before the game started I would have taken my chances with the bet 'as is' You were setting yourself up to be taken, you are lucky the book gave it back at all.

My advise, since you had ample time before the game started.

1. Call them to cancel the original wager as it was not what you had verbally indicated (although accepted in the readback)

2. Aftr it was cancelled, THEN place the correct wager.

Mistakes suck.
