Seattle has victory parade set already

Saturday, January 28, 2006
By Paul Zeise, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

The Seahawks and the City of Seattle apparently know the outcome of the Super Bowl already, and it isn't a good one for the Steelers.
According to a report Thursday in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, the team already has planned its victory parade for the Tuesday after the game.
The Seahawks' victory parade is set to begin at the Seattle center at noon Feb. 7 and will culminate at Qwest Field, where a 30-minute program has been scheduled, complete with entertainment and speakers.
The Steelers have not made any plans for a victory celebration.
"No, we'll cross that bridge and worry about planning a parade if we get to that point," said team spokesman Dave Lockett. "All of our focus and energy has just been on the game. We'll deal with what happens afterward when the game is over, but, for now, the only thing we're concentrating on is getting ready for the game."

I would hope that a team wouldn't need bulliten board material to get fired up for the superbowl. It's the superbowl for gods sake, can they give more then the 100% they should for the game?

I heard it is a parade win or lose. Of course if they win there will be many more times as many attendees, but it is supposedly a "Thank You Seahawks" parade either way.

I agree on how stupid it is to hear players say other teams having parades are disrespect. When you get to this level you shouldn't need any sort of motivation, but I am sure if the Steelers win at least a few players will mention it.

Bill and others its not that I think pitt needs motivation...but anything can help a bit in either direction if it is needed ...I think it was STUPID for seattle to let that out in the press

The Pats were planning their superbowl parade in Boston after the AFC championship game the last time they won the superbowl.

someone must have leaked the winner of the game, since the NFL is obviously fixed.

This was a terrible move by the Seahawks. Cowher must have this printed out and posted everywhere by now. I wouldn't be surprised if the spread went up to 5 because of this.

Uh, I would.........

It's a fact of modern life that spontaneous fun things are not allowed to occur, so these types of civic festivals must be planned out to the n'th degree.

I guarantee you Pittsburgh also has their victory parade planned. If they didn't, whichever winning teams fans would be walking through their respective cities with no clue what they were doing or going, and wondering "Why didn't anyone plan this parade in advance?"
