Why does it seem that the media is trying to shove Pittsburgh down our throats?

I have purposely tried to avoid watching very little ESPN or any other sports channel outside of a few b-ball games on(my thought is just get the game on and I've never been sold or a fan on the hype before the Super Bowl) but the little I have caught makes it seem like Seattle doesn't exist and Pittsburgh is God's gift to football. Outside of the minor bus accident which I read about here and Stevens' overexaggarated comments, I haven't heard a lick else about Seahawks. I've met Jerome before and he's good people and a classy guy but geesh Jerome this, Ben that, Porter this, Kilpatrick is making Detroit look like a bunch of black and gold assholes and the beat goes on from the little bit I've caught. I can only imagine if I watched more, how sick of it I would really be. I have a larger position on the Steelers to win the SB before the season than the little I bought on the Seahawks during the playoffs so I was really hoping Pittsburgh win for monetary reasons but my mind is starting to slowly change.

Steelers are much more marketable...I mean look at how little mention NFL MVP Shawn Alexander is getting...it's all Jerome Bettis, when Shawn Alexander is arguably a better back for his entire career, not to mention the much greater back at this stage.

To me the jackass of the week will be: Kwame Kilpatrick, the mayor of Detroit, if Pittsburgh doesn't win the Super Bowl this weekend. He has been shining Jerome's horn for the past couple of weeks and the Steelers for the most part. He has become an embarassment for Detroit when he was supposed to be a breath of fresh air.
