try to cancel their account before? I finally got around to canceling today and oh my God they will not let you go without a fight.I almost had to get rude to get it into her head I wasn't staying on for any reason. They are like used car salesmen. She even went on about how could I go without AOL as her screen said I used 12,000 minutes a month. What else do these people know about me? Scary.

Experienced the same damn thing, I hate AOL now, for the longest time I kept it, even though I had cable, finally got around to calling them and it was incredible...you can't just cancel and be done, and AIM (without subscribing) absolutely sucks.

I have AOL but only for the software. I use DSL from my cable company to go online. I use to love AOL back in the day besides there private rooms had every sort of software/games/movies/music you could ever want all sent to your email. Now I just have them cause im attrached to my e-mail address so i pay an extra 10 bucks for that.

Sure you can. AOL just wont be your internet provider, it wont stop you from logging into their homepage or using AIM.

recently had a software problem with aol and got pissed enough to call them up and cancel the whole thing. these aol clerks are like touts and instead of cancelling they offered to reduce my monthly bill by 50% for being a customer for so long, but will be cancelling with them as soon as sopranos starts back up.

if youre planing on keeping aol, may want to call and bitch, threaten to cancel and see what they will do for you. :lolBIG:

They offered me another month free but I expected that.I remembered when I first signed up 7 years ago I think it took almost 2 hours just to sign up. They just keep trying to sell you some kind of bullshit.

Why dont you guys go in and just uninstall the software like I did. I swear I went in clicked the boxes and hit uninstall. I called the bank told them my concerns that they would try to run my card and they put a block on it, no charge.
