How many times do we have to see a team who is up 3 not foul give up a 23 pointer and lose in overtime?

:realtongu yes i lost the under , thank you Charlie Villanueva for not being able to make 2 foul shots...amazing when you have an under locked up and it goes into OT this is 3:nohead: times in 2 days.

I have not lost on any games like this, but it really makes absolutely no sense to not foul some one before they get in 3 ball range. Why would you not do it? Unless you as a coach don't have faith in your kids and expect they may get called on a flagrant-but not likely. I've always been baffled at this lack of strategy.

Just a little sarcasm on Doug's part, playing on your wording of a "23 pt bucket" when it shouldve said "23 foot 3 pointer".

I agree Journeyman, many of the players and or coaches don't use too much common sense and allow 3 pointers to be shot when a foul would likely eliminate a tying or winning 3.

first post had the word point instead of foot.

Just stupid not to foul.

Just like a team (in college more than pro) down three points and 20+ seconds and jacking a three instead of driving to hoop and getting an uncontested two usually to pull within one and 20 seconds to go. Then go to foul fest after a steal attempt.

I lost a game once Bobby Knight was up 3 with 0.7 on the clock, instead of fouling he let Texas shoot a 3, game goes into OT and I lose both side and total, all because he chose not to foul.

And of course TORONTO ENDS UP LOSING THE GAME, it just makes too much sense, to foul up 3, in the final seconds.

Now you know life as a raptor fan. Toronto had won 3 in a row so there due to lose the next 5 now.

it makes total sense to do it. the only reason it might not be called is if the coach is afraid of the ref calling an intentional foul---other team would get 2 shots and the ensuing possession. that would be very bad.

guys I believe they would've fouled but there was just one problem...

The inbound defense was so terrible not a player was within 5 feet when Cassell put up the three.

Sarcastic, yes, but I agree... meaning came forth... not trying to be wise-ass about it. Foul in the sitation, arguably even foul if 3 free throws are given.

Nice ! I make as many wrong bets as the next guy, you remember the error losers, but forget the error winners faster. :dancefool
