What is your definition of "getting a good number"?

When you hear someone say they got a good number on that game. What do you interpet that to mean. I say if you beat the closing number by over 1 point than you got a good number on game. ( I know someone is going to say they got a good number as long as the play wins). How do you judge if you got a good number?

One that is scalpable has to be good, even just off what's readily available is good.

A good number to me is getting the best number "possibly in the world".

As an example....

If a game opened -1 and went to -4, would not consider getting +3.5 on the dog as "getting a good number".

I am always disgusted when I believe I got the best number and hear later that somebody got one better..........very disturbing.

Agree 110% In the Fish post i would say that the ONLY good number in that post is the -1. Thats the good number, Everything is a trampled number by gawd only knows who.

I like to go back on the Don Best screen and see what the best number was all day, do you ever review that?(something I am starting to keep track of to see how I am doing) What would you estimate the % of times you notice you got the best # on a play.

Tonite got some La clip -6.5 and under 198.5 and some Detroit Pistons -9 and Evansvill +9 :suomi:

Do it all the time and have done so for a long time.

Get the best number a high percentage of the time......not counting those who get free half points at certain shops.

It means you got a number that is significantly better than market value at the time you took it.
