New allegations that wire taps heard him discussing the ring. And his wife placed 70K in bets on the SB, including 5K on the coin toss, which she won.

They just said Gretzky's wife (Janet Jones) bet $1.7 million over a six week period??

This is BAD for hockey and worse for the Gretzkys.

If this is proved true, believe Wayne will be stepping down as coach of the Coyotes.

He looked totally stressed out in their last game.

I thought his reaction seemed odd, his reply was 'oh really, well you will have to ask her' ...seemed too odd to me.

I think he's trying to distance himself with that comment.

Nice try Wayne.

I can confirm the rumor that Gratky's wife is our very own gutter roaches is completely false, 1.7 million, can you say degenerate?

Gretzky has had one helluva a tough year with family.

I just can't picture his wife walking up to a mob bookie and handing him 100K in cash.

She should have just posted up with CRIS or Olympic.

By the way, see no way in hell the Coyotes win this evening.

How focused can they be?

Wayne in turmoil, Tochett not around, etc., etc.

They looked HORRIBLE two nights ago against one of the poorest teams in hockey, the Blackhawks.

The Stars in all liklihood win this game quite easily............but does one venture laying -165?

At this point, still debating.

It would be hard to imagine that NONE of the players the investigation is focusing on were NOT Coyotes.

Agree!

If fact, it would be silly to think otherwise!

We should find out how many times Wayne & Janet surfed the Hockey forum here before we make any allegations! Heard it was like a date and really gave the thumbs up to Fishead in hockey picks.

Inside information aplenty.

Injuries, lineup changes, hangovers, personal problems, etc...

As far as Gretzky's wife goes, she probably went this route to avoid neteller fees and bonus rollover requirements. I hear she's SHARP!

Phoenix surely goes down tonight, but -165 chalk? I'll pass.

Didn't Jagr have problems with losses to an offshore book that became public. My thoughts are that Mr. & Mrs. Gretzky wanted to avoid this kind of bad publicity.....oops.

If they didn't bet on hockey who cares. People here are coming down on the guy and his wife for something millions of other people do. I don't think the Gretzky's are going to be facing jail time or even charged in the matter anyway. The only thing good about what has happen is that I had Chicago money line against the Phoenix the other line and plan to "reinvest that" tonight

Total take on the ring was 1.7 million over six weeks
She herself wagered $500,000.00 in 6 weeks

Not much better, but still those are the facts

She wagered $500,000 in 39 days that were followed. Imagine what she bet during the regular season??

I agree ...

... but if it was a trivial matter, why did they lie?

HE thought it was big enough to lie about it. If Gretzky hadn't thought it was a big deal he would just come out and said, "Well, I like to gamble on football. Next question."
