I bet we have a ton of lurkers that would get along in this Forum community just fine if they give it a chance... the RX has over 24000 members according to the front page

What does it take to get the newbees and guests to feel like they should post and get into the ever groing conversations we all have here:smoker2:

There is also a newbee section here as well

I think some are intimidated by being a newbee and to that I say Just start slow when posting get to know the flow of things

You have a couple differtent types of lurkers. A) someone who can't type or spell that good and is to shy. b) someone who mainly posts at another site and checks this site so they get some different views. c) The old shit stirring lurker, who runs back and forth playing the he said/she said game. I fit into category B myself.

maybe the lurkers think that their opinions will not be treated well...i posted over @ fezziks place the other day...gave my opinion on the texas @ texas tech game...so called smart money... they were all playing t-tech...i posted that texas had a better frontcourt more talented depth...i was told that i was a square...and pretty much didn't know what i was talking about....i laughed all the way to the bank as texas covered by around 18pts....square this bitch.:money8:

I lurked here for a long time before signing up. I just wanted the information and no interaction. However, at some point I wanted to say something to someone and I signed up to make that one post. I was hesitant to join in, but am glad I did.

There is a certain comfort to read opinions/disagreements without feeling you have to take the energy to respond or participate. However, I have enjoyed this posting community as I have little other interaction during the day! That's not as sad as it sounds...LOL! You guys are my interaction during work. I have interaction with others outside of work. tulsa

IMHO i think it is a combination of many things.
Being shy certianly fits in there.
Needing help would also be right close to the top.
Afraid of others and the attack feature.
Not being able to type or spell as well as others here, an there are some GREAT posts here, in detail no less.
Not wanting to come out of the closet for fear of the ISP or the e-mail addy being given up.
Thats just to name a few, as i am sure there are many many more, for some folks.

One are world famous guessicappers allowed to post here. For those who like to fiddle fart around you guys are way to serious for the most part. I am lurker type B in addition to that. Some info that is posted in here goes beyond sports and collectively you guys act like a police force that keeps things on the up and up. One only need ask a question about anything or post something they have discovered and off to the races fast everyone goes to dig up the truth. It is by far the best thing about this fourm.

I think I was just too lazy to signup for a while. I was new to gambling and just soaking in all the information I could. Had no real reason to post or signup even because I could already read everything. Finally decided I almost owed it to the site to register and since then I have posted daily in the CBB forum and can't wait for Baseball.
