Both avg 28.4 both shoot around 50% from the field, both long bombers.

It seems to me most posters think JJ is overrated though.

Note: this is a college basketball award, not who will be a better pro.

I can't stand Duke, never could, but JJ sure looks like the country's best player. I'd give him the nod.

He hit a shot today from about 30 ft, not that it's that hard to nail a 30 ft shot but, looked odd seeing him launch one from just inside the Terps half court logo.

Applying the switcheroo methodology Morrison would make Duke great instead of pretty good while JJ would be just another Zag shooting guard. I would love to see WCC top defender Corey Belser wedging JJ into his own picks not getting any shots the entire game.

Cal, do you think the WCC is more competitive than the ACC?

No but it is a lot better most years than the southeastern power elite that runs college hoops thinks it is. WCC has yielded more NBA coaches than the ACC. Reddick shines because K has four guys setting picks for him every possession.Granted JJ busts his butt running to the right spots but this guy Belser, beleive me would not let JJ get to his spots.
Do you not think Duke would be better with a 6-8" scorer/rebounder in the Bird mold than Reddick.

The argument can be made Reddick has more around him than Morrison. That's a good argument. But Morrison faces far and I mean far lesser competition day in and day out that Reddick does. And the Zags, while being ranked 5th in the nation, have escaped several times. We'll never know, but I doubt Morrison averages 28 against the competition Reddick plays. And Reddick likely scores well over an average of 30 against Morrison's opponents. On the other hand, Morrison may have the better of it in the pros.

I have heard rumors that they could go number 1 and 2 in the draft....
any opinions?

I cannot see Reddick being a dominant NBA player, certainly not a top 2 pick, but, the college game isn't loaded with blue chip players with so many players leaving early.

Think back to some #2 selections 10-15 years ago...the college game just doesn't keep great players long enough anymore.

I would be very surprised to see JJ go #2.

After watching this Stanford game I can say with absolute certaint Reddick is better - Morrison's game also seems to be limited to shooting - anytime he tries to get near the hoop it looks like he is forcing it - I think Morrison is a real good player too but there can be no doubt who is better - I went to Cuse and hate Duke so there is no biad here - personally do not see either as great NBA players - they both seriously lack athleticism.

I DON'T SEE THE BIRD COMPARISONS WITH MORRISON...I DON'T THINK EITHER PLAYER WILL BE A GREAT NBA PLAYER....IMO, MORRISON MAY BE MORE ONE DIMENSIONAL THAN JJ ACTUALLY.

Agree -- don't see alot of Bird in Morrison. But why is it that all year now that these are the only 2 players discussed for this? What avbout Dee Brown or JJ's teammate Sheldon Williams? Those 2 might turn out to be better pros actually. Reddick is incredible though, many times he just leaves me shaking my head. But I don't think that it shoud just be 2 players in that discussion plus there is a long way to go.
