I know for a fact that college athletes look at spreads on the games they are playing. Back in college I was friends with a group of football players at a large university in TX, and they definately were in tune with the lines. Games they felt they would easily cover rarely worked out. I think over three-fourths of the kids playing these days look at these lines. I think the lines give alot of schools a sense of confidence or they are a source of motivation. I think lines provide a source of overconfidence in many cases for teams. Anyone have other info on this?
