The auto racing season begins next Sunday when NASCAR gets things going with the Daytona 500. Yes, it is a little unusual contesting the "Super Bowl of Racing" on the opening week of the season, but very little about motor sports is conventional. Moreover, the sport is quickly becoming a major wagering attraction in Nevada.

The battle between auto racing bettors and bookies continues to grow and escalate, with each side seeking to gain an advantage on a sport with ever expanding popularity.


Personally I am not a big auto racing fan but the sport looks like it is gaining popularity with bettors. I don't get though, maybe I like the ponies to much.

Will you need to come up with a Daytona 500 contest NASCAR biggest race. Like the Kentucky Derby is to horse racing glad gear head season is back:103631605

I would like to see an auto racing forum section be added to therx. Maybe the moderators can ask for a popular member vote for threads devoted to each of the major auto races in the US and the World, i.e. NASCAR, Grand Prix, etc.?
