Did they bring back the dunk contest in time for Dr J to recapture the award he won in Denver back in 1976 over David Thompson, I feel like they must have but I do not recall this? I feel like he came back and did the foul line dunk , but cannot remember for sure....the more I think about it, I think he did.

in 1976 yes it was...I was thinking maybe Erving was still playing when they brought back the contest, but I remember it being Larry Nance who dunked from the line....after thinking about it, I don't believe the Doc was still playing when they brought it back.
I don't think Webb did it twice.
