Marin - Sabau tennis match tomorrow morning..

I guess Im writing this thread in hopes one of you may provide a little info on this guy Razban Sabau....

Tomorrow morning Sabau faces Juan Antonio Marin in the tournament down in Argentina....

Juan Antonio Marin is a Costa Rican tennis player, well past his prime which basically sucks. Nonetheless he is over -200 favorite *-214 at Pinny*

I just did a little digging and found Sabau is 0-4 on the year so I guess hes not exactly on fire but this -200 line seems ridiculous considering how mediocre *at best* Marin is.

They're both journeymen. Marin did win the same match about 3 weeks ago, but a close enough 3 setter. I wouldn't price him that short, but he should be fav. Why do you care anyway?

Marin is a pure clay courter, I don't know if he has played more then a handful of matches on any other surface in his career. He has an outstanding record in challengers, 46-19 last year, and even posted a 20-13 record in ATP events (albeit lower tier tourny's).

He merits this price imo. Sabau is mediocre and as you mentioned is struggling to start the year. In fact he is 1-8 in his last nine matches. This will also be his first match on clay this year. Marin played an ATP event on clay two weeks ago beating Hugo Armando (decent player on dirt) in the first round and then losing to Massu.

Correct, I misread a date from the h2h history as 2006 instead of 2005.....

ohhhh the match is on clay.......that explains a tad why he's a larger favorite than he should, although i still think the line is a tad high...
