Sportsbettors (as a group) I believe are not as likely to become compulsive gamblers as are those that play table games. (dice, cards, etc) The big losses we read about are the tables games where some old lady or bored housewife.....takes out another mortgage on the house and looses it online. This is more likely to get the attention of the politicians because it's news and affects the US economy slightly.

Some top books like WSEX didn't even offer table games for a long time. Sports only. I really fear that the dice/cards will cause them to pass something, HOPE I'm wrong.

Sports is what drives the legislation though. Billion dollar sports leagues are far more willing to spread the money and word about a ban.

WSEX and the others only offer the tables because they found their customers were going off and blowing it on casino games anyways, they figured they might as well be in on that loop too.

Casinos (the Nevada Powers) I think speak out of both sides of their mouths on this issue. If they would use their muscle to push for rather than fight against, then maybe in the not TOOO distant future , we could see it legalized.
W Bill knows more about this than I do.

Casino monopolies are part of the equation, but notice when these bills go to Washington they trot out every legendary coach they can find. They don't trot out Gary Loveman.

Terri Lanni gave a rousing speech a week ago, but gave it to the wrong crowd. He obviously doesn't read my articles, goes out in front of horsemen and says we all should work together to make sure sports and horse betting are legal online. Let's not fight was his message. It was received with mild applause, but inside I know these greedy horsepeople were STEAMED! Sports betting is their mortal enemy.
