Italy cracks down on online gaming. ISPs to block access to gaming sites as of 2/24/06
Effective February 24th Midnight all Italian Internet Service Providers will be subject to significant fines and arrest if they will fail to comply with article 1, chapters 535, 536, 537 and 538 of the new Financial Law of 2006. The new rule obliges all ISPs to block Italian internet users to access all the domains listed by the Italian Legislator....
I am suprised this is getting overlooked in this forum. This is rather siginificant news, IMO as Italy is a liberal western european nation. Might not too much of a stretch before other western european nations follow suit.
