i do enjoy the all star weekend .

having said that , i would be more interested in nba games if they were replaying a season from 1977 to 1982 or so instead of current games.

would be great to turn on the tv and see a promo of this sundays game of the week with dr. j's sixers heading into the garden to take on bird's celtics.

did u care about the pro bowl dante??? I didn't even know it was played until the day after

if anything the NBA is gaining when it comes to the fanbase and appeal for the last 2 or 3 years.

it has for me, too much of a show, if i want a show i ll go to the fucking ballet or the opera, when i watch sports i want competitiveness, i still can't figure out how a team can take their franchise to another city and the charlotte hornets can become the n. orleans hornettes, where i come from, europe, that's unheard of, teams have their local fan base, and that would be unheard of. Bball is pretty repetitive and boring on top of that, you seen a three point shot and a few moves, you pretty much seen it all...

It's a bad product. All Stern and his gang were promoting was a marketing plan..bird vs magic, mj was the most overhyped star ever. It has caught up with the league. The spurs are the best team, but there's nothing to hype. THey don't call it the National Businessman Association for nothing.

well said, they should have turned it into a proper sports league, besides the circus aspect of it.

To answer the question in the thread title....Yes it has. I love sports... can watch Football - nfl/college, baseball and college basketball all day long (and often do). I could not stomach watching a single NBA game, not even a final, and I grew up watching the NBA in the 80's and never missed a big game.

The All Star game use to be special...maybe its a combination of getting older and the NBA is a garbage product til the playoffs start.

Still love the playoffs! Too many teams make playoffs...just like Hockey.

I echo Mr. teaser's comments.

I am the consumate sports junkie minus the NBA. I'll watch senior bowling on ESPN Classic, taped British soccer matches, darts on FSN, any and all college hoops/baseball/NFL/college football, cycling on OLN, women's softball for Jennie Finch and the Little League World Series (even taking notice at the spread Railbird has set for Venezuela vs. Curacao).

But I change the channel anytime a regular season or NBA game is on.

Outside of a few premiere players, I do not know rosters or follow standings.

From what I hear, the refs give the home team all the calls, the games are boring, most arenas are half empty and there are very few decent rivalries (team vs. team or player vs. player) any more.

I know more about the NBA from watching Court TV than TNT.

Stolidog, it wasn't over when the Germans (not German's) bombed Pearl Harbor nor was it over when the Japanese defended Normandy Beach (some revisioned history here by me and I hope on your part as well). Do agree with you on the NBA, all flash no substance. At one time I was totally comitted to it, now I can honestly not recall the last time I watched a game in its entirety. If the league were to fold tomorrow I would not miss the games a bit.

Buckpasser-

No, actually I was talking about my WW2 veteran neighbor's Steve and Cindy German. So it was over when the German's bombed Pearl Harbor (but a point well taken).
