Granted...the idiot put the tape down and made it seem like he was about to turn into Superman...but that was still an incredible dunk!!!

2 handed dunk from the free throw line and that is only worth a 41???

A 2 handed dunk from the free throw line gets a 41 and Robinson does a one handed dunk off a lob and it gets a 44???

Smith got screwed...that was an amazing dunk that got overlooked because of the tape he put on the floor.

agree, for some reason, the whole tape thing took away from what he actually did.

It was a good dunk but nothing amazing. We have seen it rehashed tons of times by NBA, college and even highschool players. It's nothing special anymore. Didn't someone do this same exact 2 handed dunk last year with ease?

You know when the free throw line dunk stops being special? When Brent Barry can do it.

14 tries????? What was that (and he wins it???)? Guess that Stern needs the Knicks to win something.

One hand degree of difficulty compared with two hands, much much harder with two, the judges didn't seem to consider that...the dunk use to be an automatic 50, betting on this is equivalent to betting on exhibition baseball or the Senior Bowl.

But it is amazing that a pro athlete can make an impressive dunk after 14 tries???

I have never seen a college or high school player take off from the free throw line...and to do it with 2 hands has never been a 41. That was the lowest score of the night and definitely not the worst dunk of the night, that is for sure.

That was not from the free throw line. If you watched his feet, they were past the line when he jumped. His heel was on the line where Jordan had his toes touching the line when he jumped. This may sound picky but that is an extra 16 or 17 inches for these guys.

Not really...I was watching for that too because a lot of guys that do that dunk really are over the line. He was definitely on the line but I would say it was in the middle of his foot. That is still INCREDIBLE for a two handed dunk.

I am not saying it was a 50 (although that argument could be made)...but a 41??? I remember guys missing dunks in past years that got close to 40.

The midget had some nice dunks, but he would have never advanced in any of the contests in years past. You only get 2 tries. How can he receive a high score when it takes 14 tries?

James White, 2001 McDonalds All American Game Slam Dunk contest. Did a 2H dunk from BEHIND the ft line where as Smith had his foot in front of it. White did it with extreme ease too. Like i said. I've seen it done before and it is far from being impressive.

I never said Nate's dunk was any good but Smith's dunk was pretty medicore.

I tivo'd it and Smith had his whole foot in front of the line. His heel barely clipped the free throw line.

Dude, he was WAY over the line. His whole foot.

This dunk has been done way too many times, most of the time guys stepping on or over the line and thus not getting good scores. Try something freaking original and actually execute it. Two hands aint enough. This is the NBA where 5'9 guys are jumping over people and dunking. 41 points? probably deserved less
