Don't laugh---there seems to be a lot of resemblance, at least to me.

The same size, gangly moves, small town/college pedigree, leadership ability and absolute shooting talent to take over a game at any time. The one major difference I see is Larry was the better passer, but that can be developed over time. Anyone else see a resemblance?

As a Haverford boy I never wanted the next Larry Bird since the Sixers were my team. I still don't neeed the next DN who plays in Dallas and is way better than Larry. Nash is better than Larry ever was too. At least a 3 way tie for greatest White boy with Stock in 4rth.

Magic is still better than any other player ever. MJ included.:drink:

Dub: good sense of humor ... "DN who plays in Dallas and is way better than Larry. Nash is better than Larry ever was too"

I dont know how long ago you got introduced to bball but Nowitzki better than Bird? Please ... no posting when hammered as throwing Nash in with Bird is comical at best

Bird was fabulous .. Please ... he is one of the alltime greats and neither of the above mentioned is even Top 3 with todays active players

Anybody that can lead 5 white guys to #5 in the nation gotta have something. But the me,me,me, style of the current NBA will make his team attitude useless.

Morrison another Bird? Please tell me you are joking. Do you think Morrison will lead whatever NBA team that drafts him to one of the biggest turnarounds in league history? That is what Bird did, Morrison will probably have to fight for a starting role his first year. Let's wait until he actually plays his first game in the NBA before we start this debate.

Nothing against him but if Morrison was a black guy from Philly he'd be just another above average basketball player.....

Morrison couldnt hold Birds jockstrap, I mean it. Bird used to bang under the boards with centers and power forwards grab offensive rebounds forputbacks or defensively start the break with an outlet pass
and finish the break with a 3. The bigger the game/situation the more Bird would expand his game and impose his will. Morrison lacks this dimesion entirely (imo) and is nowhere near the passer or defender. Not that Bird was a great man/man defender but rather he used angles and instinct very cleverly.

Having said that I love watching Morrison play , one of the more enjoyable players to watch in awhile for me. I really hope he continues to improve and becomes a factor at the next level but Bird???? lol.

Bird is the 2nd greatest basketball player ever...after Jordan. Nothing pi$$es me off more than when some tool tells me Magic was better than Bird. Except lately when people tell me Peyton is better than Brady.
As for Morrison, he reminds everybody of Bird. I think he'll be a great pro. Definately has that mojo that most of today's NBA stars are missing. Sponsors will be lining up for this guy.

And if he didn't have that date-rape mustache he would be another Keith Van Horn.

Bird was as good as he was because of his passing skills, don't forget. Sure, he could shoot and rebound, but it was his passing talents as a big man that set him apart. I have yet to see this Morrison kid make players around him better. We shall see...........

Sober now and Yes Larry was the man.

This kid is pretty good. I am not sure he could carry an Nba team but could make an impact on a team for sure.

I have watched Morrison plenty of times over his career and I think that he has a shot at being a very good pro. He will not be one of these guys who are great in college and then fail miserably once they get to the NBA.

He has great size for a swingman. He has great range on his jumpshot and has the ability to create his own shot. The one aspect of his game that I really love is the fact that he excels in the clutch. He simply takes over games at times and generally makes all the big shots late.

I would take him over Rudy Gay in next year's draft. Not sure if he will ever become a superstar in the NBA, but I think that he has all the makings of being a very good pro for a long time.

don't think stockton ever gets enough love. He holds 2 records that may never be broken in basketball...steals and assists? Unreal. give the guy some love.
As for "if Morrison was from philly and black he'd just be another above average player."
Tell that to Tom Izzo and the rest of the coaches of the teams he's destroyed this year.
And last time I checked, Keith Van Horn didn't drop anywhere close to the points Morrison's coming in with on a nightly basis. And Van Horn doesnt bring nearly the intensity Morrison brings. It'll actually be a shame to watch him in the pros becuase he'll be surrounded by guys that don't give a shit about the game until the 4th quarter...
