How would you feel as a player going half way around the world on 1 days rest. Playing 4 games in 5 nights just to make it to the medal round then having to fly back to North American to play a game a day or two after. The human body can't take that toll so the union made sure there is some sort of break for the players in the Olympics once the games are over.
Not much interest in the oly hockey even though its been entertaining, be interesting to see if the NHL will shut down after the 2010 olympics. Been rumors the NHL is not really happy about shutting down every 4 years.
