Up by ten alittle under a min left. Indy figures its a good time to foul. Then they let Ill run out the clock......I'll take it

58 seconds left and the game on 12, guard for Indiana dribbles it off his leg bringing it up and doesn't go after it. Goes out of bounds. So Illinois has a 3 second difference with the clock, so they let it run down and don't even try a shot. Indiana gets the ball back and they don't try and shoot.

Both teams should have just walked off the court with a min left.

What were they supposed to do? Foul down 12 with 38 seconds left? Come on. Too many teams drag it out unneccessarily. That was appropriate.

I guess Tony is saying Indiana could have atleast taken a shot.

A full minute with either team trying to score?

The game ended exactly the way it should have. The game was out of reach, and both teams played it with class. The spread is of no concern to these kids. No reason to foul, or to take a shot. Since Illinois ran out the shot clock and took a violation, it would have been bush league for Indiana to heave up a three.

seriously FatT what would you expect to have happen when illinois gets the ball back with 38 seconds up 12? How would it have played out "correctly"?

You believe that?
For the most part, yes. Look, this is the perfect example of what should happen at the ending of a ballgame. Why you said that it is a joke, and are implying that it was a dirty ending is beyond me.

The thing that made the whole thing screwy was the kid dribbling the ball off his leg and doesn't even make any effort to go get it.

Tony, you call it a joke and then say you had your money on Illinois. I don't get it? You should be happy you won and not rehashing the moment. Don't say you feel bad for the people who had Indiana either...

What don't you get?

People are asking me why I thought the way I did and I'm answering. Is that a problem?

You could have made this post without saying you had Illinois if you wanted to know how the people who had Indiana felt...This would have left your post neutral and not vindictive which it SEEMS (not sure of the exact intentions) to be.

Vindictive? You're taking this the wrong way. The only reason I mentioned that I had Illinois was to show that I wasn't writing this out of anger.

I'm sorry you lost on the game. Wasn't my intention to piss you off.
