i wish you mods would consider maybe to revisit the policy of once a name is chosen it is gone for good, even if that person has never made a post or visited the site or logged in for years. just a thought.

why?

if a person who selects a username doesn't post in over 6 months, i believe they should be deleted from the database. of course that will require a lot of extra work by the mods to maintain the database, but it is the frequent posters on this web site that makes this site good.

i have had the username "chalkeater" for quite some time. does that mean that somebody else can't use it? no, but i believe i should be at least given a consideration when you compare me to the other chalkeater.

Earl, that is a good point to consider. No one likes to delete a user name but in this case it may be warranted.

Original Chalkeater registered years ago - no posts and has not visited this site since before software upgrade of Sep 2004. I am not sure how much before.
