AJ Smith held a press conference today and said they can't reach a deal and Brees will be a free agent March 3.

Unreal.......

Solid starting QB's in the NFL aren't that easy to come by.........

Miami should make a push for him.......

I can understand that a little more now, last year they had no choice this time around his injury, and not being able to sign him long term and the Chargers didn't get better.

Who's to say Rivers can play though? If he didn't get hurt I think they would have signed him.

Hey #1 ,l how are ya........

They don't need Brees after the way Chris Simms grew up this year.....

Miami Dolphins are the ones that should make run for him.

I mean, cmon........
Enough is enough...
This Miami franchise has not gone after a decent QB since Dan Marino left......

Could be a bluff. I'd be pretty shocked to actually see them let him go.

Somebody will probably throw A LOT of money at him. Probably close to a dozen teams will show interest.

MAybe thats what Brees wanted the whole time. I would think he could get huge dollars at many other places, well a few, if they have that much under the salary cap.

Guys, Brees is NOTHING SPECIAL. Without LT, he is simply another CADE MCNOWN. Same physical tools (or lack thereof) as Cade. Remember how little Brees did before his "breakout" year that corresponded with L.T. becoming the best RB in the game and the arrival of Gates. Chargers were ready to label him a bust, thats when they drafted Rivers. Dolphins already busted with McNown and Brian Greise, also two short scrambling QBs with average arms. I hope they don't think this guy is the answer.

I don't remember what team it is, but he might wind up where ever Schott's son is at. Is that the Dolphins?

ppeter. got to disagree. Already an above average NFL qb, with alot of room to improve.

Chargers may have a JP losman on their hands with Rivers. Why not stick with Brees?

Schott's son went to the Jets. With all this talk about Pennington, maybe that's where he's going to go. But people I talk to here in SD say that he really didn't get along with young Schott, and wouldn't want to get reunited with him.

But how about the Ravens? How about a swap for Ray Lewis for Brees? Lewis is supposedly looking to get out of Balt. since they don't have a QB that can take them to a championship.
