By far had this game had the biggest influnence on who I am today. My love of stats, sports, and gambling was shaped by this game. The ironic thing is I have ran into a ton of "gamblers" thru the years that also played this game.

Strat-O-Football is the greatest game ever invented. Played Baseball 1st, and it was good also, but the Football game was unparalleled with how much control you, the coach, had. It should be mandatory for NFL coaches to play this. Many could learn playcalling and get over their conservative tendancies.

We played a lot of "spinner" baseball as well. Anyone remember that one?

oh yes, are you talking about the one that had the numbers and if it landed in a certain area that was the result, for example #7 and #13 were singles, I remember Rod Carew had gigantic singles areas...The #1 straight up at the top was a home run, spoent many many summer days playing that game too! I believe it was called 'All-Star Baseball'.

Played it ALL the time!! My favorite was when you could buy the older seasons, 1970 being my favorite, the Reds were unreal, along with the Orioles.

Used to love those guys like Gorman Thomas who would have the HR's at 2 and 12 on the card LOL Didn't know back then about probablity and the likelihood of hitting those numbers and how 7 was most common, 7 STRIKEOUT was all over big home run hitters cards LOL

Then there were some pitchers who almost didn't ever give up a thing vs a particular side of the plate, but were destroyed by the other...

Good stuff.

The Barry Bonds Strat-o-Matic card from his 2001 season was hilarious. I saw it years after I had played my last Strat-o game, but I still remembered how the cards were layed out. It went something like..........

2-7
2-8
2-9
2-10
HOMERUN

1-4
1-5
1-6
1-7
WALK
1-8
1-9
HOMERUN

3-6
3-7
3-8
3-9
WALK

or something like that. Maybe someone here still plays it...........

bonds' liver explodes due to steroid abuse...season over.

its all risk reward with that card.

Liked Strat-0, but bigger fan of APBA.

Had some great old-timers teams.

I actually joined a strat-o-matic league at the sportingnews.com last year. The computer plays a 3 game series every nite versus other owners. You make out lineup and sitiuational spot, the computer keeps the ytd stats. Man,these guys that play this take it very serious. It was ok
