BetonSports(SBR rating C) considers paying a player they once stiffed for $400,000. Now under new management BetonSports is hoping the long belated payoff will help put an end to the "stiff" label that has haunted them for years. Ken Weitzner, of the EOG.com, has reported the gambler will receive hold-harmless type agreements and hopefully payment relatively soon. BetonSports stiffed the player out of $400,000 claiming he was a "professional". BetonSports’s SBR rating has suffered and a few of the more respected watchdogs and gaming portals have refused to accept their advertising.

I saw this over at SBR. That would be a great move on their part in my opinion. They are losing more than $400k a year on the bad press they receive from this one incident.

The New BOS management team has been nothing but helpful and professional when dealing with me since they have been an advertiser here at The Rx. The few issues that have come-up have been dealt with promptly and to the satisfaction of all involved.

Personally I have no idea what is going on regarding the old no pay issue from 1998 that SBR is talking about. I certainly hope the right thing gets done.

Wilhelm: I believe Ken has posted that he has sent/will be sending you a copy of the affidavits:

Just to keep you informed, I will be sending affidavits to Wilheim and BOS, from the Gambler who was STIFFED out of several hundreds of thousands of Dollars years ago....

Since both BOS and WILHEIM agreed to get involved and the new management at BOS has expressed a genuine interest in putting this behind them, I will let all of you know how this transpires...

The damage may have already taken its toll. But they could use that one deal for a steping stone, i suppose?

Now that Bodog is probably exceeding BoS in attracting new customers with all the slick marketing, I guess BoS had to think of something. I think a lot of people would be glad to see this get resolved though.

I posted about this earlier and it was moved to the RR. What's the difference between my thread and this?

I know. My handle is not Clip Joint.

Good news, BOS may eventually get money from me now that they are under new management. Hopefully this management can get BOS into being a good solid book.

They have the money and the resources to be a top notch book under new management as long as their is truly no affiliation with G.

Regardless, the player deserves to be paid for his winning bets.

I didn't see your post...sorry if this was a duplicate.

Trust me, my handle is no more popular here among mods than yours. I definitely don't think that had anything to do with it.

Drop in the bucket for BOS. Brilliant PR move for them.

No one seems to be able to fathom the kind of advert money they spend.

just think

$400,000 at 4% annual interest over 8 years is $547,427.62

:money8:

Not sure what the inflation rate is but I hope they don't pay him in 1998 dollars.

I was thinking the same thing...but the one excuse is this is a new group that took over. I think they might be able to slide with just paying the past owners debt.
