i mean, i was slapping the old ladies around pretty good last year in shuffleboard on the carnival cruise ship. its really the same thing except its on ice, you dont have a metal thingy pushing the disc and the competition is younger.

probably wouldnt get the gold but, i think a bronze would not be out of the question. if i learn how to work with the brusher guy, i could be dangerous.

plus, all the experience i have playing boche ball would come into play. i doubt if the canadians have even heard of boche ball. they probably still play jarts or maybe even crochet. that would be a huge advantage...not physically but in regards to strategy.

does anyone know who i should call to get a tryout for the next olympics? i want to start working out right away.

you would slip and fall and slide 1/2 way down the court...

they would be sweeping in front of you just to see how far you could travel.

Herschel Walker has stated he will be training for the Curling team as well, last I heard he quit the FBI to train for 2010 .

AP: Feb 18th 2006

Walker to train for U.S. Curling team .

Herschel Walker is planning yet another Olympic sized comeback, and this time it's for the U.S. Curling team. Walker living in San Diego, Ca. these days and working undercover for the F.B.I. has turned in his badge ,to concentrate on earning a birth onto the 2010 squad.

undercover for the fbi...:lolBIG:

that's better than elvis working undercover for the dea.

seriously though, i think i could work with herschel...as long as he doesn't start talking in third person all the time. if i hear him say "herschel walker deserves a spot on this team"..."herschel walker needs to get up early and brush the ice tomorrow"..."herschel walker really misses his mom"...i am outta there.

Thanks for reminding people from Minnesota J-Man!

Sorry RW

I haven't liked the Vikings since they went indoors, I sure wish they would play outdoors like they use to...Cannot stand those domes.

Sorry Blue, back to the topic at hand, wasn't pulling out a hijacking on purpose.

I wondered the same thing about the degree of difficulty, and how it looked easy, we had a local news guy trying it and he was slipping his ass off just trying to launch the disc.

Blue..I have no Doubt you could make the team,,,,In fact if you have a tape of the sweeping and swinging method you used to get rid of the Racoons in the Garage..I do not believe you would even have to try out.............G.

I admit, it would be cool to wear the team USA wind breakers as long as I can pull down the zipper far enough so it covers up the Reebok logo. It would be a great thing to be an olympian who isnt looking for every last physical edge. An olympian who could get drunk as a skunk the night before doing his duty as one of the ice shave guys, without worrying about getting disqualified becuase I poped some tylenol in the morning. Thoughts of being on that ice with that stupid broom and the word "BUSTED" on the cover of SI come to mind.

g, it was the whole coon situation, along with my years of boche ball that give me the confidence i now have. i know i'd have to get used to being on ice but...how hard could that be? i mean, i didnt fall down once a few weeks ago when i was shoveling the driveway after we got 10 inches of snow that one friday night. my neighbor was on his ass at least twice but not me. it was early in the morning too...these curling events usually start after 9:00 am so, i would be more stable and have at least 2 cups of coffee in me.

Anyone here ever curl I did once in high school and that shit is hard. First couple tosses well I fell trying to throw it and I'm canadian I'm used to a bit of ice, I only got to throw a few stones but never come close to getting em to stop in rings and a few actually left the playing surface.
