Tried to send a money gram today for 1500 bux, and their "compliance department" wouldn't allow it to go through and forced me to go get a refund. I haven’t used these guys all that much but they were nice and convenient and never had any problems till today.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
the bitch on the phone started questioning me...<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
"How do you know these people".."where did you meet them"...and to top it off "do you have their phone number in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Nicaragua</st1:place></st1:country-region>"<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
They flat out said they think its for gambling purposes..<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
Bad news, This is going to happen to more people for sure!<o:p></o:p>

Why not send 750 twice? no ID needed.

I know that sucks but , I was under the impression under $1000 was allowed without ID

I used them a few times sending $3000 and it was pretty easy... easier than WU.

Sorry to hear this is going on with Money Gram. This month, I finally started getting "blocked" by Western Union and had looked into finding sportsbooks that accepted Money Gram. But I guess the same thing will just start happening anyway.

My Instacash is suspended with Neteller also - that happened because of getting declined with using my credit cards. Sucks because it's not really my fault that 90+% of credit cards don't work with Neteller or offshore books anymore. I'm hoping the Instacash gets reinstated soon but for now I'm stuck there also.

The prepaid Visa cards sound like a good idea to look into.

what about FedEx? i dont mind using them, fees arent that bad and i dont mind a couple days wait.. This would seem the toughest to crack down on. FedEx'ing cashiers checks..

then you would have 2 wait 21 banking days for it to clear that wouldbe a long wait

Yeah, this is true. I mean, if you want to send a check to Montego Bay, Jamaica or San Jose, Costa Rica it's your business right?

i dont think, you have to wait 21 days for a cashiers check.. i think Fedex will be the way to go... I have a good friend (who gambles) and owns a check cashing business with WU there as well.. I never have a problem with WU..

FedExing cashier's checks not a bad way to go. Since I live in Neteller hell (Maryland) I have used this method or online echecks when available. Since they require a cashier's check, books are comfortable that the checks are good. They will credit your account upon receipt, usually 1 or 2 days after being sent, not 21 days.

i have used these at hollywood, heritage, olympic, betjm, pinnacle without a problem. i have also used it to fund my neteller and then transfer to books.

in terms of a hold, i am not sure. i usually play long term with books, and that has never been an issue for me. however, some books require you to fax in id and send money back to the credit card. i would talk to the book and tell them you are using a prepaid visa card. most books will work with you.

in terms of fedex/cashiers check, that is a good policy. however, most books wont let you wd for 30 days, until the check clears.

betjm always gives me credit the same day i send it, before they receive it. however, i have a good relation with scotty over the years. scotty also says that betjm can run deposits from your checking account (citadel method) for up to 10 dimes. i havent used this method, but this seems to be another good alternative as well.

i dont have the problem with the wait.. i think players better start looking at this route... the instant methods may soon be cracked down upon but checking every fedex package would be a big problem for the gov't..

5dimes has Money Gram Deposits...I do it all the time...but I use the Blue form for Express payments. (5.95 or 5.50 from walmart) I had a problem once w/ their compliance dept and the person told me that anything over 1k sent multiple time will raise a flag.

But since I send the $$ to a company its has not been a problem.
