Sports pager wont work after changing the battery

I changed my battery in my sports pager tonight and now it won't work. It just has the espn to go displayed on the screen. Anybody know how to get them to work again? Model is a motorola skytel flex pager. Was working great until now.

Perhaps a bad battery......try another battery.

Some of those pagers are tricky. Sometimes you have to change one battery at a time. I would suggest you read your manual or contct Motorola or look for internet help.

The phone # of the company should be on the pager , give them a call tommorrow during day and they will walk you thru it

i found the manual but its of no help. I think the pager itself is ok just can't pick up the paging service. I bought it used from another poster here who I think got it from CRIS. It was working fine until I changed the battery, now all I get is the ESPN to Go screen and nothing else. Maybe I'll try calling CRIS?

Whenever I have had issues I called the Sports pager service and they hooked me right up. Cris isn't going to be able to help you. Thats not their field, they take bets, not fix pagers:modemman:

Yes I know they can't help me, I thought they could tell me who the provider is. Since I bought it used I'm not sure who to call. The pager has SKYTEL on it, maybe that's the provider

Thats who you need to call are you sure the # isn't on it. I have Sportspager and the # is on theirs for eventual problems or replacement

The guy who sold me my pager a few years back told me to never use a Duracell or rechargable battery. It would screw up the pager.

mine was sporatic last night but is working fine now..sometimes it loses the feed

it's probably not battery....it was probably having trouble picking up the feed...if it's giving u the espn to go or whatever its not battery...probably a signal issue...possibly storm, rain, etc

well I tried calling skytel but they were no help, they said I had to contact the seller as they do not support the pager. I bought it from a poster here a little over a month ago and it was working fine until now. I emailed the poster and asked him if it ever happened before. I did user a duracell battery but I'm not sure why that would affect anything. Maybe it will be all right tomorrow?

If the pager is from cris and the previous owner who sold it to you no longer places bets ar Cris. Service will be shut down.

Same goes with my DSI free pager.

Update- I got up this morning and pager was working fine so must be it takes a couple of hours to pick up the signal or something.
