Dominican Republic -241 to win Pool "D" (Pinny). Line should be -1000. Dominica should be co-favorite to win the whole tourney, much less the weak Pool D.

I just checked out who they were up against

I'm from Australia and didn't even know we were in it

I didn't even know we had enough players to field a team

I know there are a few Australians in the Major leagues, minor leagues and college but enough to make this tournament

Surprised

Exactamundo. Pool D is Dominica, Autralia, Italy, and Venezuela. Only Venezuela poses a remote threat. Dominica is stocked with MLB all stars eager to win without compensation (Dominicans are very nationalistic and show their pride through their baseball successes, just like the Cubans).

Also, while its true Venezuela (Santana, Zambrano, F. Garcia) can match the quality of Dominca's rotation (Pedro, Colon, K-Rod, etc.), Dominica has a big edge in position players (Manny, Vlad, Big Pappi, Tejada, Pujols, Soriano, etc).

I disagree, because pedro is probably out, and Colon, I cannot see them pushing him when he could pop at any time.

While they will probably get it done, those pitchers from Venezuela could shutdown anyone.

I respect PINNY to much to regard this as being great value.

Pinny makes many many many soft prop lines on off events like this one, its one of the best ways to $$$

this is another.

In March the hitters are ahead of the batters. Also, the pitchers will be on short pitch counts.

gotcha, I was thinking that maybe you were saying that a contact hitter was ahead of a power hitteror something like that, which I had never really noticed.

Pretty sure Manny will be a no-show for the DR team ............

Sox gave him some extra time to report to spring training (3/1) and stay in Boca with his family. The DR team is supposed to report on (3/2) so it is "assumed" that the Sox gave Manny an extra week before he had to report in Ft Myers under the impression that he was passing on playing in the World Classic..................

Another thing to think about if you are betting the USA: The Caribbean teams just finished up the Caribbean tournament (I watched some of it on the YES network, thanks to Directv) whereas the US team has not practiced together.
