Most astounding thing about this trade is finding out Hardaway is knocking back $15 mil this year. I bet he's not thrilled about that hitting all the papers. Hell, I'd cash the check too, but how can he not feel at least a little guilty about that? NBA, with its ridiculous salary structure, BLOWS.

It's 3 years then the team has the option to pick up the 4th year at a 26% increase of the players 3rd year salary, something that Cleveland done along time ago. Inbetween the 3rd and 4th year teams have exclusive rights to sign a player to a long term deal. If the player doesn't want to do that then he is a res free agent after year four going into year five meaning anyone could offer LBJ a contact but Cleveland has the right to match it. After year five then LBJ would be free to sign with any team he wants if he doesn't sign a long term deal with cleveland beforehand
