Headed out to Vegas in the morning, wanted to ask what are the must hit spots. Where should I check out for sure, who has the best sports book to watch a few games, best places to gamble, etc..

Thanks.

thanks jeffksu...

I'm headed out with a few KSU grads, probably won't play video poker or slots...mostly hold 'em and black jack..

Plan on eating at Hugo's Cellar on Saturday, heard lots of good things about it.

Unless you are going to be there for a month you will not have time to do anything. I've been there 3 times in the past year and a half and still have not seen anything. I suggest seeing some of the many free shows. This saves you money and is pretty cool. The Rio has a great one, Ceasars also has a nice one. If you get low on cash go into the Desert Passage in the Alladdin they have a survey that they pay you $20 each time. Last time I was there I did it 6 times before they realized that I did it already. That place is my future home, I love it.

Holdem - Bellagio for anything but low limit, low limits go to the Imperial Palace and say hi to poster Green Doberman and get a solid $3/hour food comp
Blackjack - Most places suck, just be sure not on a table that pays 6/5 on BJ

Those 6/5 are the single deck tables that you have a greater chance to win. I'll take that 6/5 over a 3/2 on a 5 deck table any day. As for comps, it is a bad habit to start playing for comps. Get them when you can, but you can end up spending $200 on a $10 meal. Anyways when will you have a chance to play blackjack while craps tables and sportsbooks are everywhere.

Dude, get ready to duck or hope some of the others in here don't see that comment about the 6/5 BJ being better than multi-deck 3/2. I don't care much about it personally, but that comment will piss off a lot of people around here.

I won't duck, I'll take it head on. I know that the facts are the less decks the better the odds. I've played hands upon hands of both and never do as well as good ol' single deck. Plus, I've never read a book that says that multi deck is better than single. Thanks for the heads up though about the onslaught that I may face.

Less decks is better, but 6/5 kills you. They could be using a 100-deck shoe and you would still be better with 3/2.

Go see Fat Elvis at Barbary Coast. It's a free show and entertaining. They (coast properties) also have one of the better books in town as well.

Please tell me you're joking? I thought our forum base is more intelligent than this? You are obviously a life time loser in gambling.

Sorry for the sarcasam, but you should really do your homework before making a comment like the one below. People like you are the reason those shitty games are still around in Vegas.

I'm going to add to the post above, the view from Mix atop The Hotel at Mandalay Bay is the best view of Las Vegas. If you are here Monday Night and you are a clubber the Foundation Room is open to the public and that too has a great view, but I prefer Mix...more laid back atmosphere than Foundation Room or Ghost Bar.

Food...won't go there, the list is rediculously long. You could spend all weekend dining at various restaurants at MGM Grand and never have a bad meal.

Sports Book, SCnit's list is good, I'd add Mandalay Bay to it. As for cocktail waitresses...all are good. The ones at the Rio get up and sing too so that's an added bonus.

Gambling...downtown is my personal favorite.

Have fun!

While you're at the Barbary Coast, or any Coast casino, be sure to grab one of their famous hot dogs in the sportsbook.
