If a wall street big house is saying "no" I bet it passes.

Morgan's clients are probably loading up on legal gaming and sportsbetting stocks as we speak. They will pop huge if and when this bill passes.

Concluding that the US legal scene is likely to remain " a grey area"

for at least the next 18 to 24 months, the report calls attention to

developments in the UK, pointing out that online gambling is regarded

in that country as a " legitimate leisure activity" to be regulated,

and that this view will predominate internationally in time

I like that. It's like saying: "There are sane people out there, why don't we look up to them?". Naaah, too obvious.

All I could see was stopping credit cards (as in some states already)

30 million U.S. online gamblers are a major impediment to banning
online casinos

As I have mentioned numerous times, this will bring an upevil 10,000x worse than the Boston Tea Party.

What a freaking disgrace to the American public this bill is.

My credit card does not work for deposits. It does not matter though, Neteller is just fine with me.

"At any rate, atoning for the scandals involving Abramoff and DeLay is now a primary concern for many Republicans and a re-vote on I-gaming prohibition, may be one area in which they believe they could accomplish their goal.
Meanwhile, Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz) is believed to be ready to introduce an identical prohibitory bill in the Senate soon. Doing so would eliminate the hurdle of merging two competing versions of the bill at a later date."

Those are two sentences to take notice of. First, the crusaders are framing this bill as a chance to prove Congress is free of Abramoff's influence, implying that if you oppose the bill, you are corrupt.

Second, the fact Kyl is intoducing the SAME bill in the Senate, rather than his own version, means this bill is going to be fast-tracked, and won't require a joint committee of the Senate and House of Reps to re-write a compromise bill between the two chambers of Congress.

Fish, I think you are wishing upon stars with this opinion.

I doubt many will care whether or not the scalpers, bonus whores, middlers, and other professional gamblers have to grind out a living elsewhere.

Many families, businesses, and most importantly the US government would benefit if online gambling was banned.

Looks like alot of us gambling junkies will have to move to Nevada or elsewhere to gamble on sports like we have been online if these laws pass.

The only "upevil" will be if/when these online books fold up the tents with our cash.

What benefit would it be to a Brokerage house to say they don't believ this will pass now--if they truly don't? They should have done a lot of homework before putting this out there for the public to read.
