All I ever read about anymore, is someone who is a pro poker player or even a winning player. It's getting unreal!!! For everyone that wins someone has to lose, where are they?

I think poker players have taken oven sportsbettors as the "biggest storytellers" out there.

Exactly!!

It really is quite amazing.

By the way, there are FAR more losers than lifetime winners in poker.

Personally, played probably no LESS than 10,000 hours over the past 35 years and am BARELY in the black......probably made about 0.03 cents an hour in my long and distingused poker career.

Just cracks me up, everytime I speak to someone on a forum in real-life and mention gambling they tell me how they are this great poker player. Maybe that is why "someone is making money" because ALL of these players think they are good which is the 1st sign of a square. Confident players is not what the poker industry is lacking. What the literally thousands of newbies to poker in the past few years are finding out(which I knew would happen), is this is not a game that is a license to steal at and in fact is one that will suck ones money away if they dont have their wits about them.

This is not to say however that there are many(thousands in fact), that have found it to be profitable...........as well as entertaining.

But as previously mentioned, the losers FAR, FAR outweigh the longterm winners.

I dont know where ya'll b reading at but in the poker forum here losing is the biggest topic.....really cant think of 1 poster off hand with the "i never lose" syndrome...

P.S..if you do decide to ck it out all the stories of me losing are made up just so i dont make everyone else feel bad..lol

I'm with PPP, all I ever hear about is the bad beats. After I got over the rather expensive learning curve, I wasn't doing too bad. Didn't make a lot, but I'm probably close to even. Considering that includes a $1700 tourney win at the MGM, I'm probably down playing online.

I don't see how guys like Matt24 can play like they do-I've burnt myself out playing poker more times than anything else in my life. It's just too time consuming.

have played about 10 live sessions either at friends houses or casinos and i am up a few hundred .

have played 10's of thousands of hands online and have probably lost $ 1400 .

it isnt even entertaining anymore.

i can say that i have lost that money while getting my chips into the pot as a 7 to 1 , 8 to 1 or even 9.5 to 1 favorite only to get knocked out.

i am a pretty tight player and feel like i do everything right only to have some guy catch a miracle card . over and over and over again...

i am officially done with online poker.

I am not a big poker player but when I do play I either lose a little or break even for a night. I'm yet to take a big loss but I never win. That is why I stick to sportsbetting and craps when I get a chance.
