Hearing Bill Walton During Tonight's Game Reminded Me...

...of something he said the other night that made me laugh hysterically for a few minutes. I forgot to share, but better late than never, right?

Anyways, so he's on NBA Coast to Coast, and they're going over highlights of that night's games...and they get to the Wizards-TWolves game. They show Minnesota getting raped in the 2nd half, then they cut to the box score, when Walton says:

"Hey, I thought Minnesota TRADED Michael Olowakandi?

Oh wait nevermind, that was Mark Blount putting up an 0-for-2 with zero points tonight."

I know a lotta posters dislike him, but Bill definitely provides some comic relief on a regular basis.

I love Bill Walton...I use to tune in wondering "what will Bill say tonight"...he is as pompous as they come.

One of the biggest egos of alltime, he was also one of the greatest college basketball players of alltime....

You guys are killing me...this guy is unbearable. He has really toned it down tonight. Usually I can't even listen to him. He was the Clippers play by play guy until the big networks started giving him more work.

He's been national for years.. Walton is a legend.

Part of his schtick is to be a pompous arrogant prick...everyone knows this.

Everyone knows this I agree...but it gets old real quick. I might be able to handle him every other weekend or so. But when he was doing 75% of the Clipper games, it was ridiculous. Every shot was "the greates play in the history of the NBA"...or "he is the best big man to put on sneakers this millenium"...or "throw it down big fella".

As a player, he was very good! As an announcer in my top three worst all time with Bill Russell and Rick Berry! Anyone see a connection or two here?

Could anyone here imagine - throw in Joe Theismann with these three and let them go to dinner or something. There has to be some kind of reality tv here somewhere.

I have great season tickets and very little time lately on weekends. I am flying out to Utah early tomorrow and sold tonight's seats. I sell about half of them and make a little money on the season while keeping great seats.
