The Super Bowl and a regular season Big East basketball game.

Yeah, I see the parallel.

exactely my point. Humans make mistakes...just because its a bigger game doesnt mean that the refs are not going to miss a call and see everything.

The refs swallowed their whistles everytime Pitt drove to the basket. Disgraceful.

I wouldn't call it being human and making mistakes. I call it a deliberate bias towards the home team. Don't trivialize the fact that these guys just made a boo boo. They know when to blow the whistle and when not to. The road team ends up always getting screwed.

I think the problem that people had with the Super Bowl was that with it being the biggest game of the season, it is presumed that the NFL had the best available officiating crew for the game. This being said, to have the kinds of calls missed by the best crew in the game, especially at pivotal points of the game, is very tough to swallow. However with hundreds of games taking place every week in college basketball the officiating talen will become diluted and you will be subjected to poor officiating at times. It's a matter of expectations.

only bad thing about that game was the announcers, blowing West Virginia at every chance, whilst they about pissed away 12 and 11 points leads in both halfs...
