Mansion cash out problems....

when i signed up Mansion told me they needed a copy of my driver lic in order to cashout, but said i could cover up the lic number ( i dont want to give that out because it is the same as my social sec number). but now when i just talked to them they said they DO need to see the entire lic.
WTF

i also thought a few people here did send in a covered drivers lic...

I've sent covered ID. Call them. Don't cover it up in full, cover 4 digits or so.

A disgruntled/crooked employee, current/ex making $6/hr might see an opportunity to use your most critical id for illegal means.

The problem is the US social security number is totally lacking in security and requested for all kinds of spurious reasons.

When I lived in the US (on a green card) I had to get an SSN in order to apply for a driver's licence. At least they didn't put it on the licence! Now if I happen to be asked for one when I'm in the US I say I'm Canadian and don't have one.

i'm thinking about going up to my local dmv and changing my driver lic. number to a random number.... i dont think there is much anyone can do with just a regular old driver lic.

Get a State ID. They're typically $4-$5, depending on the state. I used it for Mansion, and use it in many similar situations where I'd rather not use my DL.

I had a cell-phone provider ask for my driver's license and a current utility bill in order to switch my number after I moved. I just moved in with my mother so I didn't have a utility bill. I called them back and they were adamant that they needed that as proof of residence.

So I printed out my new address from Word on my computer and taped it over my bank statement and faxed it to them. Idiots! Don't ever mess with Quantum Leap when it comes to stuff like this.

My point is that you can scan your driver's license and use Paint or some other picture editor and put in fake driver's license info.

I love shit books that do this sort of thing. They have NOOO problems taking the money with no ID. What a crock of shit. Books if anything should ck. ID's before a deposit if they are going to ck. And If you use neteller no ID should be needed PERIOD.
